WI{EREAS, the Vl1lage, pursuant to 1ts HoEe Rule Powers, the Illlnois
Intergovernmental Cooperatlon Act, and Illlnols State Statutes, deslres to
provlde flre and ambulance protectlon service to certaln areas of the Long
Grove Rural Flre Protectlon Dlstrlct by contractual servlcesl and,
WIiEREAS, on April 18, 1988, the Vlllage Presldent and Board of Trustees
authorlzed and dlrected the Presldent and Vl1lage Clerk to execute a contract
betueen the V111a8e and Dlstrlct to provlde fire and aubulance protectlon to
certaLn servLce areas, for the perlod May 10, 1988 through Aprll 30, 1989.
NOW, THSREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COI'NTIES, ILLINOIS, AS tr'OLLOWS:
SECTION I. The Vlllage Presldent and Vll1a ge Clerk are hereby authorlzed
and directed to execute the contract attached hereto as Exhiblt "1" wlth the
Long Grove Rural Flre Protectlon Dlstrict to provlde flre and anbulance
protectlon for the period from May 10, 1988 through Aprll 30, 1989.

betveen the LONG GR0VE RITRAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, a munlclpal
corporatlon, Cook and Lake Countles, Illlnols (hereinafter referred to as the
"Dlstrlct"), and the VILLAGE 0f BUFFALO GRoVE, a munlclpal corporatlon,
Buffalo Grove, I1l1nols (herelnafter referred to as the "V111age").
I/IiEREAS, the Dlstrict is a munlcipal corporatlon organlzed and existlng
under Chapter L27l of the llllnols Revised Statures of 1985 as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Distrlct ls ernpowered under such Statute to contract rrith
any corporatLon, adjacent flre protectlon dlstrict or vlllage to furnlsh flre
protectlon services and energency ambulance servlces wlthln all or a portion
of the territory of the Dlstrlct; and
WHEREAS, the V1l1age has an operatlng flre departnent and energency
ambulance servlce; and
WHEREAS, the V11lage is deslrous of enterlng Lnto a contract with theDlstrlct to provide flre protectlon and emergency ambulance servlce lrlthln aportlon of the terrltory of the Dlstrlct.
NoW, THEREEoRE, IT IS AGREED AND ITNDERSTOoD by and betveen rhe Dlstricr
and the Vlllage as follows:
ARTICLE I

That durlng the exLstence of thls contract the Vlllage sha1l cooperatewith the District and Lrlth other entltles havlng contracts with the Dlstrlct
so as to pronote the health, safety, welfare and convenience of the pub11cresldlng rrlthln the terrltory of the Distrlct.
ARTICLE III
That the Flre Chlef of the Village shalL have the sole exclusive right
and responslbillty to prescribe the manner of glvlng the alarm for flre orother emergency in the terrltory deslgnated and shall further have the sole
WHEREAS, the DLstrict is desirous of enterlng lnto a contract rrlth theVlllage to provide such flre protectlon services and aurbulance services to aportlon of the terrttory of the Dlstrlct; and
WIiEREAS, the Vlllage is a muni.ctpal corporation organized and exlstlng
under the Statutes of the State of Illinois; and
That for the perlod beglnning on May 10, 1988 and explring on Aprll 30,
1989, the V1llage shall furnlsh all flre ftghting, flre protection, flrepreventlon and emergency ambulance services; all flre flghting, flreprotectlon, flre preventlon and ambulance equipnent; all personnel whether
volunteer or pald; and all necessary faclllties to house and adnlnlster the
equipnent and personnel to be provided; necessary ln the judgement of theVlllage to provlde flre protectlon and energency ambulance service for theterritory so designated in red on EXHIBIT ,,Arr attached.
