RESOLUTION NO. 86- 1 SI'?PORTING THE ESTABLISEMENT OF A FREE-STANDING POST OFFICE FOR BUFFALO GROVE WHEREAS, The Vlllage of Buffalo Grove has long sought and advocated establlshEent of a full-servlce postal facll1ty to serve Buffalo Grove resldents; and, WIIEREAS, the U.S. Postal Servlce, desplte rhe objections of the Viltage, lntends to assign the Corporate Grove lndustrlal park to the Deerfield Post Office, and the Wlndbrooke apartment project to the Pralrle Vlew Poet offlce; and, mIEREAS, thls partltlonlng wl1l result 1n three outslde post offlces pro- cegsing Buffalo Grove nail, and three separate zlp codes for Buffalo Grove resLdents, factors whlch, ln all probablllty, w111 result ln confuslon, mls- routed xELl, aod poor postal servlce; and, WIIEREAS, lt ls the opinlofl of the Vtllage Board that such a declslon will alEost certainly destroy any hopes of Buffalo Grove gettlng lts o$n post offlce, whlch would be injurlous to future developnent of the Vlllage and the eonvenlence and welfare of its resldents; NOW, TITERETORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TEE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROYE, COOK AND LAKE COTINTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. Ihat the Vlllage strongly opposes the assLgnment of any Lncorporated area of Buffalo Grove, now or ln the future, to the Prairle Vlelr or Deerfield post offlces. 2. That the U.S. Postal Servlce be urged to establish a new postal faclllty to serve all resldenta of BuffaLo Grove. 3. That copies of thls Resolutlon be transnltted to the Postmaster General, I1llnols Senators Dlxon and Simon, and Congressnan Porter.
