President Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Those present stood and pledged allegiance tothe Flag.

President Smith welcomed and thanked Mr. Jorbin for stepping up tojoin the wonderful volunteers that serve
the Village of Buffalo Crove.
President Smith congratulated our Village Manager. Dane Bragg. on receiving the prestigious ILCMA Service
to the Community Award. This well-deserved recognition highlights Mr. Bragg's unwavering dedication,
leadership and commitment to making Buffalo Grove an oulslanding place to live. work. and thrive. Mr.
Bragg's passion for public service has made a lasting impact on our community and we are proud to have him
at the helm.

Mr. Black introduced Jamie Wilke),. partner from Lauterbach & Amen. to present a summary ofthe 2024 annual
comprehensive financial repon. Mr. Black thanked the Buffalo Grove staff. as well as the Lauterback & Amen
staff for the work they put in to completing this audit. Ms. Wilkey then presented an overview and highlights of
the 2024 Audit and Management Lettcr. noting that she is happy to report another clean audit for the year.

Chief Kane introduced Brian Shepard. representing lhe Buffalo Grove Rotary CIub, to present the Rotary
Firelighter of the Year award.
Mr. Shepard briefly presented an overview of Rotan Club and the Firefighter ofthe Year award. then reviewed
the accomplishments and criteria ofthis year's recipient. FF/PM Michael Manka. As he was presented with this
award, FF/PM Manka was congratulated by the audience and the Board. after which he thanked the Rotary Club
for sponsoring this award. the Village Board. his family. and the members ofthe Buffalo Grove Fire Department
for supporting everything he aspires to achieve in his career.
ChiefBudds noted that tonight he has the distinct privilege and honor to be appointing the first woman to the
rank of Deputy Police Chief in the history of Buffalo Grove. Chief Budds provided a brief background on
Tara's phenomenal career in the Buffalo Crove Police Department. after which he administered the Oath of
Office to her. Deputy ChiefAnderson was congratulated by the audience and the Board as her badge was pinned
on by her husband, Mark. Deputl ChiefAnderson thanked ChiefBudds. Mr. Brag,e and the Village Board for
the confidence they have placed in her. This is a significant honor. and she is looking forward to the great things
that will be accomplished, and she thanked her colleagues in the Buffalo Grove Police Department and her
family and friends for the support they have proyided to her in her career.

President Smith explained the Consent Agenda. stating that any member ofthe audience or the Board could

President Smith asked the Chief to take a message back to his team that the Board respects and appreciates our
firefighters and paramedics. and a thank you to the union and the rank and file for a very amicable, respectful
negotiation that has resulted in a long-term contract.
