AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CERTAIN
CHANGES TO THE VILLAGE CODE
REGARDING TOBACCO LTCENSES AND SALE
OF PROHIBITED PRODUCTS
... WHEREAS the village of Buffalo crove is a home rure unit pursuant to the
lllinois Constitution of 197O; and
WHEREAS the Village continues to be concerned with the proliferation and
sale of synthetic and hemp derived THC products in the Village despite the fact that
they are prohibited to be sold in the Village; and
WHEREAS the village prioritizes the prevention and enforcement of the sale
of these prohibited products within the community and
WHEREAS the Village seeks to amend the Village code to strengthen andfurther those prevention and enforcement efforts.
Now THEREFoRE BE tr ORDAINED by the president and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Buffalo Crove, Cook and Lake Counties, lllinois, as follows:
sEcrloN l. The foregoing recitals are hereby adopted and incorporated and made apart of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
sEcrloN z sections 5.32.I4o,9.16.040 and the section of Appendix A pertaining to
ICRTA lo-2o, 35.9.i6.o3o of the Village of Buffalo c rove Municipal Code are hereby
amended by replacing the sections of the Village code set forth as "current" belowand replacing those sections in their entirety with the sections set forth as"Amended" below as follows:

532.140 Use of premises after revocation.
When any license shall have been revoked for any cause, no license shall be granted to
said licensee for a period of six months thereafter for the conduct of the business of selling
tobacco products in the premises described in such revoked license.

a period of twenty-four months following the revocation for the conduct ofthe business of
selling tobacco products in the premises described in such revoked license.

9.16.040 - Molation-Penalty.
Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished as provided in chapter'1.o8.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished as provided in chapter'1.08. ln addition and notwithstanding the foregoing, any person violating section 9.'16.030 of
this Chapter shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5OO nor more than g75O per
occurrence."

SECTION 3. lf any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this Ordinance shall be
