The Plan Zoning Commissioner Training Workshop is intended to provide the Planning and Zoning Commission an opportunity to re-familiarize and discuss PZC roles, tools, and topics. This training is being sponsored by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) through partnerships with the Illinois Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) and the Chaddick Institu te at DePaul University. The training will be lead Laurie Masterson and Cynthia Winland. Ms. Masterson has over 30 years experience in the planning world both as a consultant of her own firm, Laurie Marston and Associates, and as a Director of Community Development for the Village of Wilmette. Ms. Winland also has over 30 years experience and the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. She has focused on producing local planning solutions that include environmental concerns, public engagement, and zoning and master planning. The training will be a two hours and customized for the Buffalo Grove PZC. Training areas of focus specifically include: -Roles and Responsibilities -Public Hearings -Comprehensive Plan -Plan Implementation -Planned Unit of Development -Annexation -Development Review Tools - Regulatory and Advisory -Resources As the training is highly interactive, the PZC is encouraged to participate in the discussion.
