VILLAGE PRESIDENT'S REPORT I I Chief Budds and Brittany Wilson introduced Colby Nixon,a junior at Stevenson High School. Colby is a member of Boy Scout Troop 140 in Buffalo Grove,and in order to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout,Colby is completing a service project that works to reduce the impact of prescription drug abuse. As part of his project, Colby shared with the Board information about the Deterra drug deactivation system,how it works and how it �'� can help our community. Colby will also be going out into the community to share this information by visiting � I � � � _ _- _ - -- _ l 13736 12/02/2024 schools, libraries and any organizations that would like to know more about the Deterra drug deactivation �� system. ' VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT Mr. Bragg reported that the 2025 Buffalo Grove Village Board Meeting Schedule has been finalized,noting that,beginning in January,Village Board Meetings will begin at 7:00 P.M.rather than 7:30 P.M. SPECIAL BUSINESS �/ President Smith re-opened the Public Hearing for the FY 2025 Village Budget at 7:41 P.M. President Smith asked if there were any questions from the Board or the audience. I Board members praised the entire staff for delivering a budget that prioritizes quality of life,public health and ' safety as well as infrastructure,all with a 0%increase in the tax lery for the sixth straight year. i At 7:45 P.M.,President Smith continued the Public Hearing until later in this meeting. TRUSTEE REPORTS Trustee Johnson reported on another successful Farmer's Market in 2024,realizing a net profit of$5,200.00. Trustee Johnson noted that anyone interested in joining the committee should fill out an application provided on our website—vbg.org. Trustee Cesario reported that our quarterly Blood Drive will be held this coming Saturday at the Alcott Center and urged everyone eligible to donate this life-saving necessity. `� CONSENT AGENDA President Smith explained the Consent Agenda,stating that any member of the audience or the Board could i request that an item be removed for full discussion;there were no such requests. ' Trustee Stein explained why he will be abstaining from this subject. Board members commented that this is the perfect use for the Opioid Fund and are very proud that Buffalo Grove is participating in this partnership.
