1981-47 RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 41 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE TO PERFORM AN ASSESSMENT RATIO STUDY IN THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE WHEREAS, Article IX, Section 7 of the Illinois Constitution of 1970 provides by law for a fair apportionment of the burden of taxation of property situated in taxing districts that lie in more than one county; and WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is concerned about the fair apportionment of tax burden relative to tax collection within the Village; and WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove as a taxing district overlaps county boundaries of both Cook and Lake Counties; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 120, Section 645a of the Illinois Revised Statutes, the Illinois Department of Revenue will cause an assessment ratio study to be performed for the purpose of determining a fair apportionment of tax burden of property situated in more than one county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES , ILLINOIS THAT: 1 . The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, an overlapping tax district, hereby requests the Illinois Department of Revenue to initiate an assessment ratio study for the Village for the fair apportionment of tax burden within the Village. 2. That this assessment ratio study should be conducted pursuant to Chapter 120, Section 645a for calendar 1982 for subsequent apportionment of the Village's 1982 property tax levy. 3. That if the Village after further analysis deems the study unnecessary, resolution of objection may be submitted to the Department of Revenue by October 1 , 1982, and the Department shall not apportion the tax burden.
