1976-12-06 - Resolution 1976-51 - December 11, 1976 is proclaimed as "Ellen Anderson Day" RESOLUTION #76-Jr7 WHEREAS, Ellen Anderson has been injured by a sadistic sub-human and is now trying to make the adjustment of living without one leg. Her mental attitude is very good, which is encouraging; and WHEREAS, Another problem is of cost of medical bills which are pro- jected to total $100,000. Mr. Anderson earns a salary of $12,000 a year and has a family of six children to support. If there was ever a community project which hits close to home, this is it; and WHEREAS, Ellen Anderson Day has been set for December 11 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Stevenson High School in Prairie View on Route 22. This effort is being coordinated by School District 103 PTO and is part of a multi-phased fund raising program initiated by the Lion 's Club of Vernon Town- ship and including the Half Day-Lincolshire Chamber of Commerce, Long Grove- Kildeer Newcomers, School District 102 PTO and many other organizations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois, that December 11 , 1976, is proclaimed as Ellen Anderson Day and asks its citizens and civic organizations to help in any way possible to ease the Anderson 's plight.
