1972-10-09 - Resolution 1972-32 - Request the Illinois Legislature be requested to enact legislation equalizing assessment practices RESOLUTION NO. 72- 3 2 WHEREAS, The Village of Buffalo Grove located in the counties of Lake and Cook is subject to different tax assess- ment procedures by the two counties in which it is located; and WHEREAS, such assessment procedures result in similar property located in separate counties and townships, having different assessments and different tax bills for the same service; and WHEREAS, the equalizer factor applied by the Department of Local Governmental Affairs does not equalize the assessed valuation for the properties ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Counties of Cook and Lake, Illinois, that: Section 1. The Illinois legislature be requested to enact legislation equalizing assessment practices to eliminate all inequities in the assessment of real properties in the State of Illinois including the Counties of Cook and Lake; and Section 2. That wherever different assessment policies exist in a Municipality which covers two counties or more, that the lower assessment practice be adopted as the only fair and equitable method of tax assess- ment; and, Section 3. The Village Clerk be directed to forward copies of this resolution to Governor Ogilvie, State Senators John A. Graham and Karl Berning, Representatives Eugenia S . Chapman, David J. Regner, Eugene F.
