1970-01-05 - Resolution 1970-01 - Re-zoning objection for land know as Oscar Weidner Farm RESOLUTION #R-70-1
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Counties of Cook
and Lake hereby register a formal objection to the proposed
re-zoning of the 100 acres more or less of land just north of
Wheeling near the Soo Line Railroad, commonly known as the
Oscar Weidner Farm, into G-1 (General Industry) and UR-3
(High density apartment) Districts for the following reasons:
Lack of proper notice to the Village authorities of the
hearing before the Lake County Zoning Appeals Board; failure
to furnish engineering data covering sanitary sewers, storm
sewers, water facilities in order to make a determination with
respect to the adequcy thereof and the effect upon adjoining
properties including those within the Village of Buffalo Grove;
current thinking of the Village Board is towards reducing density
rather than increasing density and limitations are imposed on
the basis of a maximum of 16 units per acre, with preferably no
three bedroom units; lack of assurances of effective traffic
controls, street maintenance, police and fire protection and
weed and rodent control.
PASSED and APPROVED this 5th day of January, 1970 .
