1971-11-22 - Resolution 1971-36 - Realignment of Lake Cook Rd From AH Rd to Milwaukee Ave. Denied by Village of Buffalo Grove RESOLUTION No.0-71 -3 e
WHEREAS, sundry meetings have been held between Village
Officials and members of the Department of Highways of the
County of Cook, Illinois, in connection with the County's proposed
realignment of Lake Cook Road from Arlington Heights Road to
Milwaukee Avenue (Section 100-1117-M. F.T), and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of opinion of the President
and Board of Trustees that realignment as proposed is not in the
best interest of the Village in that, among other things, it will
result in loss of park and sundry other dedicated areas, including
land for water reservoir, cut off ready ingress and egress to the
Village Hall along with taking a part of much needed Village Hall
parking area, require condemnations of other land, imposed additional
tax burdens, hinders quick ingress and egress for fire equipment;
and will result in traffic and safety hazards not now present.
BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties,
Illinois, that the request of the Department of Highways,
County of Cook, for realignment as presently proposed
be and it is hereby denied and that the Village not
convey and/or dedicate any of its public use land for
such purpose.
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk transmit a
copy of this resolution to the proper authorities
of both Cook and Lake Counties .

Dear Mr. Stark:
In accordance with the December 29, 1971 meeting with
representatives of the Cook County Highway Department,
I would like to acknowledge receipt of the revised pre-
liminary plans for Lake-Cook Road adjacent to the Muni-
cipal Building in Buffalo Grove. The Village Board
has reviewed same and is generally agreeable to the
alignment in principle, subject of course to the right
to work out specific aspects in detail. This is also
contingent upon your participation in the improvement
of Arlington Heights Road.
I have enclosed for your review, a brief summary of the
correspondence and meetings held with Village officials
and Cook County. Highway Department officials. I trust
that this will assist in subsequent discussions per-
taining toward the final resolution of this road. I
trust that a meeting will be held in the near future
with you to discuss this matter.
If you have any questions in this regard, please contact
this office at your earliest convenience.
Very truly yours,
VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE
