WHEREAS the Buffalo Grove Police Department services the corporate
limits of the Village of Buffalo Grow and
WHEREAS serving as a member of said Police Department requires a
tremendous personal sacrifice of time and expense and
WHEREAS this department has reached a force of well-trained and
efficient men dedicated to the responsibility of police protection
for the residents of the Village of Buffalo Grow and
WHEREAS the people of Buffalo Grow', adults and ehildrem, have
em0 to look upon the said Police Department for their safety
and well-being and
WHEREAS Donald J. Thompson volunteered to serve without pay ar
compensation as a Special Policemen on September 29, 1960 and was
appointed to Regular Reserve Officer on October 6, 1960, and am
March 8, 1962 promoted to rank of Sergeant and Juvenile Offiesr
and served in this capacity until October 3, 1963,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
that a truly geniune lasting thank you be rendered to Sgt. Donald
J. Thompson for the outstanding service he performed as juvenile
officer of the Village of Buffalo Grove. His efforts are largely
responsible for the minimum juvenile problmOrin this Village. It
is ttunate that so few men of the caliber of Sgt. Thompson exist.
