1967-05-24 - Resolution 1967-12 - Clean Stream Week May 21-27, 1967 RESOLUTION NO. R-67-12 WHEREAS, many of the streams, rivers, ponds, water courses and lakes within the territorial limits of The Metropolitan Sani- tary District of Greater Chicago are, from time to time, polluted and obstructed by the careless acts of thoughtless persons who dump castaway materials and other debris into said waters, often- times resulting in a stoppage of the flow of water therein; and WHEREAS, at the initiation of the Trustees of The Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago and of the Cook County Clean Streams Committee, there has been proclaimed in previous years a CLEAN STREAMS WEEK, to alert our fellow citizens of the importance of eliminating the disgraceful practice of this continued pollution of our waters; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago consider it most desirable and timely that a week in 1967 be similarly proclaimed as CLEAN STREAM WEEK. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove at its regular meeting held on May 24, 1967 , that we do hereby designate the week of May 21 - 27 , 1967, as CLEAN STREAMS WEEK.
