1961-03-16 - Resolution 1961-03 - De-Annexation Metropolitan Sanitary Dist RESOLUTION (No. R-61-3) TREK,' S, the residents of the Village of Buffalo Grove are provided with adequate sewage treatment facilities by the Buffalo Utility Company, and WHEREAS,REAS, the residents of this Village are paying the Buffalo Utility Company for this service, and -tilEREAS, each homeowner in this Village is paying approx- imately $25.00 per year in real estate taxes to the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago, and {SAS the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago is not servicing the property owners and residents of this Village, and WHEREAS the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago has no plans to service this area within the foreseeable future, and ;VHEREAS, the Sanitary District has imposed certain unreason- able conditions and demands upon the Buffalo Utility Company which make it economically impossible for them to expand their facilities to service territories recently annexed into the Village, and 11HEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the residents, property owners and the Village as a whole that we cease to be associated with the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago, NOW, TI-EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Village of Buffalo Grove urges all residents and property owners within the Village to take necessary actions to petition the County Court for de-annexation from the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago. 2. That the Village Board authorizes the President and Clerk of the Village of Buffalo Grove to sign such petition requesting de-annexation from the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago of the Village-owned land within the District. 3. That the Village of Buffalo Grove encourages the property owners and residents adjacent to the Village to join with them in requesting such de-annexation. PASSED this 16th day of March, A. D., 1961.
