Windsor, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 (670-9833) requested a recommendation for a variance of Sign Code, Section 14 .20 . 010 to permit the sign to be installed within within the front yard setback. The sign is smaller and lower than the Sign Code permits, but a variance is required to permit it to be installed within the front yard setback because the church is located in a residential district. The sign is made of White Bethel granite and has engraved lettering. It need no maintenance. The columns are made of poured grey cement. r %10 t Mr. Christensen said the Fire Department has asked for better identification in order for backup fire departments to be able to locate the property in case of emergency. No lights will be installed at this time, but if the congre- gation decides they are needed, they will be submitted for Appearance Commission approval.
