Appearance Commission Recommendation: SIX separate motions were made. 1. SIGNAGE and DECORATIVE WALL Motion made by Commissioner Gibbs:- I move we accept the signage and the wall as shown subject to a deviation to the height of the wass in accordance with the colors as they are submitted to us on the sketches of Kaufman and Broad Homes, Inc. with the following stipulations : that will become a) an easement for the wall at the entrance way/ Dart of Village . = b) that a bond would be forthcoming from Kaufman & Broad to pay any cost involved should the walls have to come down at a later dater . c) that we would hold a public hearing prier to removing the walls; • d) a disclosure statement shall be given to buyers; e) the sign is approved for a period of one (1) year, _ subject to return to this board for an extension after eight (8) months. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Brodie. Roll Call Vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously. 2. TEMPORARY SALES OFFICE, SITE LANDSCAPING AND SIGNAGE ON TRAILER Motion was made by Commissioner Paolillos- I make a motion that we approve the temporary sales office as presented with the following conditions:- Date of Approval Chairman of Appearance Comm. W indfield - Planned Development , APPEARANCE CONTROL COMM. motions cent'a a) landscaping be provided an the North and Northwest side of the trailer; b) that the lettering on thetrailer be approximately three ( 3) feet by ten (10) feet with the elevations • to be presented by the builder sometime next week to determine for sure that the signs are within the specifications indicated here tonight. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Gibbs. Roll Call Vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously. 3. MODEL AREA SITE PLAN Motion was made by Commissioner Brodie :- I move we accept the Model Area Site Plan with the following stipulations: a) that the Sugar Maples be deleted in favor of Norway Maples or Seedless Green Ash; b) that the underground facilities be staked prior to planting with the possible addition of an on site placement with the Forester. c) included in the disclosure statement the builder shall specify the size and ouantity of landscaping; d) the stockade fence be changed to five (5) feet to meet our current ordinance; e) light pole shall be stained to match the fence. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Berins. Roll Call Vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously. 4. LANDSCAPING and STREET TREE PLANTING Motion was made by Commissioner Gibbs:- I move we accept the plans with the reservations as put forth in the recommendations from the consulting Forester, a copy of which the Builder has . We recommend his land developer contact our Forester and/or his engineer to work out the proper spacing of trees , the proper variety of trees, and the addition of trees along Arlington Heights Rd . and also the detention area. That they also discuss the amount of top soil that is necessary to meet the requirements of the Village of Buffalo Grove; and that whatever is settled upon that this decision be continued in the whole sub- division,to eliminate the builder coming back for each phase . On the island - the recommendation being very much in accord with the presentation which was presented, and which will require minimum maintenance , shown were two (2) trees and small growing types of evergreens. Also provide that where two (2) inch trees are used they shall be staked ; or if two and one-half (2i) inch trees - not staked. Treatment of the detention area to be negotiated with the Forester and engineer. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Paelills. Bell Call Vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously. ELEVATIONS FOR MODELS NOS. 30 to 33. Notion was made by Commissioner Berins. I move we accept the elevations as presented for plans 30 to 33 with these stipulations : a) the stacks be located at the rear and enameled to match the trim; b) Side elevations of models 30 and 31 on corner lots have shuttered sindows; c) corner lots for 32 and 33 •be landscaped the same as the front. • d) garages en corner lots be located on interior lot line. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Gibbs . - Roll Call Vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously. 6. COLOR TRIM PACKAGE Motion was made by Commissioner Gibbs:- I move we approve the colors of the materials to be used for brick, trim, siding, gutters and roofs be similar as that presented tonight with these stipulationss- - a) Gutters are to match the trim, and if they do not the builder is to return wit}jalternate selections.
