I . CALL TO ORDER
In the absence of Chairman Ed Larsen , Commissioner Dennis Ehrhardt
called the meeting to order at 7 : 36 P.M. and acted as chairman.
II . ROLL CALL

III . APPROVAL OF MINUTES
September 12 . 1991 - Com. Bruno made a motion to approve as
submitted . Com . Viehman seconded them motion.
Roll Call Vote : AYE - Bruno . Viehman and Ehrhardt
NAY - None
ABSTAIN - Gordon and Weissman
Minutes of September 12 . 1991 approved and will be placed on file .
IV. BUSINESS
A. Woodland Commons Ground Signs - The Zale Group
Mr . Joseph Cohen, Land Development Manager for The Zale Group
100 Lexington Drive , Suite 100 , Buffalo Grove , IL 60089
(537-9191 ) and Mr . Greg Jenkins , Architect , made the presenta-
tion .
Mr . Cohen described the site plan and the proposed signs .
There will be three ground signs along Half Day Road . One at
the corner of Buffalo Grove Road and Half Day Road ; one at the
main entrance , across from the golf course ; and one at the
entrance off Willow Parkway . The fourth sign that was
previously proposed for the north entrance on Buffalo Grove
Road has been eliminated .
The distance between the first and second sign is 845 feet .
The distance between the second and third sign is 695 feet .
The signs will be setback from Half Day Road a distance of
20 feet and all distances meet the Sign Code requirements .
The signs are double faced . Each face is 6 . 83 ' x 13 . 36 ' and
they are 91 . 25 square feet . The Code would permit 120 sq . ft .
The signs will be internally illuminated so there will be no
lights shining into the sign. Each sign will have 5 tenant
panels . The tenant panels are black routed out anodized
aluminum. Dominick ' s will have the corporate orange and green
colors . Ace Hardware and the other four tenant panels will be
ivory . The sign criteria does not permit any other colors .
The top panel , Woodland Commons , is drivit with black anodized
aluminum letters that are back lit .
The materials of the sign structure will match the shopping
center brick and colors . The spacers between the sign face
and the sign structure will be green , one of the canopy
colors .
Mrs . Gladys Linde man, 205 Willow Parkway was present . She
asked if there would be a berm on the north side of Half Day
Road in front of the shopping center .
Ch. Ehrhardt said landscaping is required around the sign.
Landscape plans were not available , but Mrs . Linderman was
assured that very attractive landscaping plans have been
approved and the Village will require compliance with them.
Com. Viehman made a motion to recommend approval of the
Woodland Commons Ground Signs and site plan as presented .
Com. Bruno seconded the motion.
Roll Call Vote : AYE - Gordon, Weissman, Viehman ,
Bruno and Ehrhardt
NAY - None
Motion Passed - 5 to 0 . The proposed signs will be sent
to the Village Board for final action on October 7 , 1991 .

Com. Viehman made a motion to adjourn.
Voice Vote - AYE Unanimously
Ch. Ehrhardt adjourned the meeting at 8 : 00 P. M.
