CALL TO ORDER Chairman Ed Larsen called the meeting to order at 7 :37 P.M. on Thursday, June 8, 1989 at the Village Hall, 50 Raupp Blvd. II. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: M. Silbernik, F. Weissman and E. Larsen Commissioners Absent: E. Bremner, D. Ehrhardt, C. Bruno and R. Gordon Bldg. Dept. Liaison: Charles Matt, Deputy Building Commissioner III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Com. Weissman made a motion to Table. Com. Silbernik seconded the motion. Minutes of May 25 , 1989 Tabled until June 22 , 1989 IV. BUSINESS A. Mica Imaging, Inc. Monument Sign - 801 Asbury Drive Eric Schaeffer, Landmark Outdoor Advertising, Inc. 7424 Industrial Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana 46304 (312) 445-8600 , made the presentation. Sign will be single-faced, setback 10 feet, within the landscaped area, per site plan submitted. Location is the first lot on the east side of Asbury Drive at the Arbor Creek Business Centre. Applied vinyl graphics will be Olympic Blue #3680-77 . The sign will be non-illuminated. Com. Silbernik made a motion to approve the sign as submitted by Mica Imaging, Inc. Com. Weissman seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: AYE - Silbernik, Weissman, Larsen NAY - None Motion Passed - 3 to 0 . B. First Midwest Bank - Dundee Road Pat Ryan, Keiffer & Co. , Electric Signs, 450 Old Skokie Road, Park City, IL Mr. Ryan distributed a new copy of the proposed sign, with the words 24 Hour Banking added. Two signs will be mounted. One on each side of the pylon sign. Cash Station will be Green letters on White, the 24 Hour Banking will be Blake letters on White. The cabinet will be Dark Bronze to match the rest of the pylon sign. Com. Weissman made a motion to approve the Cash Station/24 Hour Banking signs as submitted by First Midwest Bank. Com. Silbernik seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: AYE - Weissman, Silbernik, Larsen NAY - None Motion Passed - 3 to 0. C. J. B. Winberie - Remodel of patio Kenneth Monsman, Stouffer Corporation, made the presentation. He submitted a colored drawing of the proposed stone wall that will replace the iron fence. The small iron gates will be Black. The trellis will remain and lattice will be added for shade. The stone will be Chocolate 35-40 , Shady Point with natural mortar. Stones will be deep cut. Com. Silbernik made a motion to approve the stone wall of the J. B. Winberie Patio as submitted. Com. Weissman seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: AYE - Weissman, Silbernik, Larsen NAY - None Motion Passed - 3 to 0. APPEARANCE COMMISSION June 8 , 1989 - Page Two V. ANNOUNCEMENTS Ch. Larsen commented that when he looked at the signs at the Town Center, he observed that none of them seem to have disconnects. Mr. Matt said they may be located under the front panels. He said there has been a problem getting the sign companies to call for final inspections. He will check the installation and report back. Regarding sign maintenance, Mr. Matt and Ed Schar are working on the renewals and will be starting inspections soon. Com. Weissman commented that the mechanical equipment the F & M Building is very visible. Mr. Matt is going to try to have it painted out. VI. ADJOURNMENT Com. Silbernik made a motion to adjourn. Com.
