Planning Commission meeting on behalf of the Buffalo Grove Plan Commission,so
was not able to attend this meeting. Visitors: Um. Farrington, Harry Rueckel,

Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Wilhelm. Derek Palmer made
the motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting as read. Norman Kortus
second the motion. All in favor.
PARKWAY TES. John Hooper stated he ties going to get a list of trees that are
recommended by a professional landscaper.
GLEN GROVE SUBDIVISION
UTILITIES: Mr. Hooper made a report on the underground utility wiring and recommen-
i ded they be adopted in the Plan Commissib1i report.
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: Mr. Hooper also recommended the upgrading of County Line Road
because of the projected heavier traffic. Buffalo Grove Road should be widened
by the proposed shopping center with curb and gutter included. dr. Hooper pre-
sented the Plan Commission with a complete and concise report on the Glen Grove
Subdivision.
NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Al Frank presented to the commission a variation of the plan on
Unit 7, on 'Wainwright Pky. just north of Dundee Rd. He asked permission to
install a parkway in the middle of the road 10 feet wide and approximately 150
feet long. It was the feeling of the commission that they needed a little more
time and Mr. Hooper said he would come up with a little better "geometry" on
this parkway.
Mr. Hooper stated that at the next regular meeting that there would be a possi-
ble request for rezoning on the northeast corner of Buffalo Grove and Dundee
Roads; for a gas station and other multiple buildings.
Also, Mr. Hooper stated that a group was interested in the property to the west
rTs
IP
of Arlington Hts. Rd. for a golf course, motel and multi-family dwellings to be
possibly incorporated after the Glen Grove annexation.
Derek Palmer brought up the problem of an air pollution ordinance. "s an ex-
ample, Elk Grove does not have a comprehensive one, and as a result, a galvan-
izing industry moved in and is odorizing the Elk Grove area and the village at
this time can do nothing about it. After studying the zoning ordinance of
Buffalo Grove, it was felt that the present ordinance dealing with air pollu-
tion was adequate at this time.
'RTET SIGNS: The Plan Commission studied the possibility of recommending reflec-
tive street signs instead of the present painted ones. After much discussion
the commission felt that the reflective signs should be made mandatory in all
future street labeling and a gradual changeover of the present signs.
The commission felt that an informal training and general purpose meeting should
\./ be held at g:00 P.M. on Mon., Aug. 26th. Norman Kortus made the motion to ad-
journ. Derek Palmer second it. All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
