Meeting called to order at 8:20 p.m. R. Axen moved to accept the
minutes of both the public hearing and the regular meeting of
January 17, 1968. C. Giebelhausen seconded. All in favor.
It was pointed out that since there was no quarem, no official vote
could be taken.
There was a discussion on rezoning of the property bounding golf
course from R-4 with special use to R-9.
William S. Lawrence of William S. Lawrence & Associates, Planning
Consultants, gave a discourse regarding land in question and also
generalized information regarding statistics on apartments. As
stated by Mr. Lawrence, the tax base for multiple family dwellings
per student is 40,200. 00. The tax base for single family dwellings
per student is 7320.00.
Mr. Lawrence recommended that 30 to 40% of a growing community
be multiple family dwelling.
The following figures were bought forth by Mr. Lawrence. If the
land in question were platted for single family at 3.6 per acre,
there would be 244 homes with an average of 2 students per unit,
or a total of 488 students.
The plan as already approved by the village consists of 300 townhouses
and 300 garden apartments which would yield approximately 750 students.
In the plan that Mr. Friedman is currently proposing, there would
be 1188 units consisting of 60% two bedroom and 40% one bedroom
units. There would be 145 students in the two bedroom and 22 students
in the one bedroom. Total of 167.
Mr. Friedman stated that present planning does not indicate three
bedroom units would be built.
The following persons were in attendance and indicated general
outline of the plan was very good for the school district:

L. R. MURPHY - Kildeere countryside
F. E. FRENCH - Long Grove Planning Commission
G. R. MILLER - President, Kildeere countryside

Respectfully submitted,
