1969-02-19 - Plan Commission - Minutes PLAN COMMISSION MINUTES REGULAR MEETING February 19, 1969 Present: T. Finnegan R. Brown H. Cimaglio J. Guidotti C. Giebelhausen M. Krugly M. Stern (Village Engineer) Absent: E. Fabish N. Kortus R. Axen The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. R. Brown moved to accept the minutes of January 15 and February 5, with correction that February 5 minutes had erroneously been indicated as January 5. J. Guidotti seconded. All in favor. T. Finnegan was acting chair- man because E. Fabish was at Arlington Heights Plan Commission meeting. Mr. Frciedman requested a waiver of the stamped name on a number of manhole covers which have already been installed. C. Giebelhausen moved to waive the need for the imprinted name on the manhole covers already installed, with the provision that all future covers be im- printed with "Village of Buffalo Grove" per ordinance. J. Guidotti seconded. All in favor. The Travel Trailer Ordinance review was tabled until the next meeting in order to await a report by N. Kortus. A request for a marquee sign under the existing local ordinance was made to be installed at 55 West Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Mr. Joseph Bulgarelli, owner of the building, was present and showed a drawing. There is enough space on the marquee portion of the sign for four rows of 8 in. lettering. It was pointed out that the sign, as requested, is not a marquee as defined in the sign ordinance and therefore is not under the jurisdiction of the Plan Commission. Mr. Bulgarelli was advised to contact the building commissioner. The attached letter from Levitt and Sons, Inc. , was submitted to the Plan Commission for the approval of street names. The comments of the Village Manager, Mr. Bannister, were noted. Police Chief Smith was asked to make a list of all street names in Buffalo Grove in alphabetical order. C. Giebelhausen moved to table the approval of the list to the next meeting in order to compare with the listings from the Police Department and Post Office. H. Cimaglio seconded. All in favor. Mr. Finnegan appointed a subcommittee consisting of T. Finnegan, H. Cimaglio, R. Brown, and M. Krugly to look into duplication of street names and numbering systems to see if anything can be accom- plished to reduce confusion. Mr. Guidotti and Mr. Giebelhausen were appointed as. a subcommittee to prepare standard operating procedure for the Plan Commission. R. Brown moved to adjourn. H. Cimaglio seconded. All in favor. The preliminary plat of this subdivision was recently approved by the Village Board. We are in the process of preparing final subdivision plats and present the following street names for your approval: Alden Lane Emerald Lane Amherst Court Emerson Court Aspen Drive Parker Lane Cambridge Court Paxton Court Carlton Lane ortsmouth Lane Cloverdale Court Roslyn Court Dover Drive We request your approval of street names at this time, so there will be no question when the final plats are submitted. Since we already have a Cambridge Drive I recommend we not name a street Cambridge Court. Bill Bannister VILL ,, E OF BUFFALO GROVEBUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS • 537 -6373 February 20, 1969 PLAN COMMISSION REPORT • MANHOLE COVERS: It is recommended to the Village Board that a waiver be granted to the Friedman petition for unmarked sewer covers. This applies only to present covers. It is also recommended that all future covers must comply with subdivision regulations and be marked. SIGN ORDINANCE: The commission finds that the sign ordinance should be revised and recommends printing of it be held up until changes can be recommended. STREET NAMES: There already exists some conflictions on street names and the commission will review all streets.
