1972-01-19 - Plan Commission - Minutes Y/72 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE \.J HELD ON JANUARY 19 , 1972 The regular meeting of the Buffalo Grove Plan Commission was called to order by Chairman, Mr. Carl Genrich, at 8 :17 P.M. , January 19 , 1972 . Members Present: Chairman Genrich Mrs . Spence Mr. Hoyt Mr. Fader Mr. Haarr Mr. Yost Mr. Mendenhall Mr. Harris Mr. Gamin Mr. Friedman Members Absent: Mr. Berth In attendance were Mr. Herman Soifer, Vice President of Miller Builders, and Mr. Arnold Anderson, Architect for Miller Builders ; Village Engineer, Mr. Seaberg, and Mr. Robert Grossman of Associated Planners. Minutes of Previous Meetings : Mr. Haarr made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hoyt, to approve the minutes of December 1 , 1971, as amended. On a motion by Mr. Yost and seconded by Mr. Friedman, the minutes of January 5 , 1972 , were approved as amended. \./ Mr. Soifer submitted a revision of the P .U.D. Ordinance of the 2nd Phase of Mill Creek Apartments . The revision was for a reduction of units and change of style from 4 stories to 2 stories . Layouts and plans were submitted previously. An yout urn e �� was labelled Exhibit C. Exhibit C was approved by the members present and signed by owl Chairman Genrich, Secretary Fader, and Mr. Seaberg. Mr. Seaberg l ' was then asked to make copies of thei to give to Miller Builders . �` , Then Mr. Soifer said he would get a separate survey and a separate legal description for the dedication of Lot 2 for a well site and a letter of agreement that stone monuments will be placed on the nine corners of this lot. Mr. Genrich than asked Mr. Anderson how the quality of this new design compared with the old design. Mr. Anderson � explained that originally there was a greater a ng i elevation and the buildings would have been situated better, but they have since done some grading to change the difference. Therefore, 2 stories will fit in better with the design and breaks up the parking on the site better than before. Mr. Anderson also felt it fit in with Village design better since there are no buildings inTe11127taller than 2 stories . a�Q- The motion was made by Mr. Haarr and seconded by Mr. Hoyt that January 19 , 1972 Page 2 the Planning Commission recommend to the Village Board that the requested change to the plan for Miller Builders , Phase 2 , be approved and to amend Ordinance 69-12 per Exhibits B and C, subject to approval of the engineering plans by the Village Engineer. The motion was passed unanimously by a roll call vote. Mr. Yost was asked to attend the Village Board Meeting on February 7 and represent the Planning Commission on matters of Miller Builder 's changes proposal and reconnended changes of the subdivision ordinance. J4jA4o eLe2Z4-u/' The next order of business was the vacation of a public street located in Strathmore Subdivision, Lake County, Units 12 and 13, for a school site. The motion was made by Mr. Hoyt and seconded by Mr. Haarr that the Planning Commission recommend vacation of these streets . The motion was carried unanimously. Mr. Robert Grossman presented a followup to his discussion and critique of the Naperville Ordinance given at a previous meeting of the Planning Commission. He distributed copies of legislature that relate to the same kind of an approach used in Naperville regarding dedication of land. The motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Harris and seconded by Mr. Hoyt at 9 :32 P.M. The members present then held a P.U.D. workshop session.
