AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 50 RAUPP BOULEVARD, BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS.
CALL TO ORDER
President Clayton called the meeting to order at 7:38 P.M.
Roll call indicated the following present: President Clayton; Trustees
Marienthal, Glover, Reid, Shields and Kowalski. Trustees Shields and Shifrin
were absent. Also present were: William Balling, Village Manager; William
Raysa, Village Attorney; and Lee Szymborski, Assistant Village Manager.
SOLID WASTE
Mr. Balling reported on the status of the Solid Waste contract.
WHITE PINE NURSERY
Mr. Balling reported that the ceremony dedicating the Buffalo Grove/ White
Pine Municipal Nursery will be at 2:30 P.M. this coming Friday.
CATV PROGRAMMING
Mr. Szymborski introduced the subject, details of which are contained in his
memo to Mr. Balling of April 20, 1988; he also introduced Jack Claes, Executive
Director of the Elk Grove Village Park District, and Alex George, Program
Director for Channel 6.
Mr. Claes then gave a background on Channel 6 for the Board.
Mr. George then made a presentation to the Board regarding Channel 6 programming,
and played a videotape illustrating some examples of Channel 6 programs.
Mr. Claes, Mr. George, and Mr. Szymborski then answered questions from the
Board.
President Clayton thanked Mr. Claes and Mr. George for coming and for their
presentation; she stated that this subject will be placed on a future Village
Board agenda.
CULTURAL ARTS COMMITTEE REPORT
Mr. Dennhardt, Chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee on Cultural Affairs, reported
to the Board on the findings of the Committee over the past 6 months; details of
this report are contained in Mr. Szymborski's memo to Mr. Balling of April 20, 1988.
Lengthy discussion took place with regard to the next step to be taken in this
process. President Clayton then thanked the members of the Committee, and
presented Certificates of Appreciation to each of them.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Glover, seconded by Reid, to adjourn the meeting. Upon voice vote, the
motion was unanimously declared carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
