i. Staff Liaison Evan will invite her to our September meeting to begin
discussing our website vision, etc.
ii. For publicity purposes, forward Staff Liaison Evan what we want shared
with the public for Fun & Food and Bowling with Buddies and he will
forward to Molly
VII. Sub-Committee report
BG DAYS
a. Buddy Baseball (Dean Klassman)
i. Currently 25 players and 15 buddies confirmed
ii. Commissioner Klassman reached out to Staff Liaison Evan to reach out to
the fire department/police department to see if anyone is interested in
being buddies
iii. Idea to move the shirt distribution area over to the dugout and when they
check in and they can get a shirt so we can keep better track of who gets a
shirt to make sure that the right people get the shirts

1. Anyone who is not involved with the commission or a buddy will
not get a shirt
2. Anyone not volunteering will not get a shirt
3. Shirts are between $11 and $12
4. Commissioners Robinson and Garfield will help pass out the shirts
and do buddy check-in
a. We will not sell shirts to individuals who ask
iv. Commissioner Klassman has secured the DJ and clown
v. Chair Samuels spoke with Adam Moodhe about getting a wireless
microphone
vi. Park District provided (3) tables for last year's event, Commissioner
Verson will reach out to Erica at the Park District to confirm
vii. Staff Liaison Michel will reach out about parking and logistics
viii. If you have a red commissioner shirt, wear it— if you do not have one, get
the new red buddy baseball shirt
ix. Commissioner Weiner made a motion to have a special surprise honorary
first pitch

ii. Chips are being donated — Commissioner Verson will let Commissioner
Robinson know if her minivan is needed for pickup from Costco
iii. Commissioner Verson will call McDonalds regarding cookie donations
iv. Staff Liaison Michel will get us contact information for Kona Ice
v. Commissioners should arrive at 9am
c. Fun & Food Registration and Website (Lexi Robinson /Judy Samuels)
i. 13 confirmed registrants
ii. Commissioner Robinson has created blurb for the Village's social media
with the registration link that she shared with Staff Liaison Michel
d. Courtesy Shuttle (Judy Samuels)
i. All Commissioners and Volunteers who are able should sign-up for at least
2 shifts of the shuttle
ii. Golf carts should have headlights
iii. Staff Liaison Michel will ask about a masking policy for riding on the shuttle
iv. If you have not taken the shuttle for the training, Chair Samuels is waiting
to hear back from the BG Days committee about when the training will take
place (it will likely be before or after their last meeting), Chair Samuels will
email out additional details

v. First shift drivers will check-in at the MobileComm trailer near the splash
pad, when drivers swift shifts new drivers will call in to MobileComm to let
them know who is in the shuttle or drive past to let them know, last shift
drivers will check-out with MobileComm or InfoDesk

a. Buffalo Grove Resident environmental concern - Dunkin Donuts on McHenry Rd
(Avi Samuels)
i. Referred this matter over to the Village's Engineering Department for
further evaluation
ii. It may be down to the site owner to change if they want to
iii. For the RK-CRD to help provide recommendations to the Village and
Planning and Zoning, this would need to become a formal goal of our
commission and a formal process would be determined based on that
motion passing as a goal through strategic planning for the commission
iv. No further discussion necessary at this time, Staff Liaison Michel will
provide an update on the resolution of this issue if and when one arises

c. Posters / Fliers to share information about our events (Marty Sussman)
i. Use fliers with QR for Bowling with Buddies that will be included in the
lunch bags at Fun & Food
ii. Commissioner Robinson will create a Google form for Bowling with
Buddies to include on the flier and share the QR code with Commissioner
Sussman to include in the PDF
iii. Staff Liaison Michel will get posters/fliers printed for at Buddy Baseball to
promote Fun & Food and Bowling with Buddies
d. Revisit Mission, Vision and Goals (Donna Garfield)
i. November 16, 2022 meeting to be focused on this work
ii. Commissioner Zalay motions to move the September RK-CRD from
September 28, 2022 to September 21, 2022 and the October RK-CRD
meeting from October 26, 2022 to October 12, 2022

required per ADA and Illinois.
• Village lawyer is currently working on this
• No further discussion needed at this time

i. Not at this time for brochures, we will look towards digital information with
the new communications director

• Marketing person hired

h. Continue discussion related to how our Commission can work with Planning and
Zoning to be able to review and provide some input related to handicapped
parking spots, etc (Marty Sussman)
• From the June 2022 meeting: Prior to this - we need to revise and review our
Commission's mission, vision, and goals and determine if this is something
we want to include as ours goals. If so, a procedure and liaison for this role
would need to be included.
IX. New Business
a. Mariano's "Stop for Pedestrian" Signs (Marty Sussman)
• "Stop for Pedestrian" signs disappeared from Mariano's parking lot; do they
have the right to take those away? Was there an ordinance that put them in
place in the first place?
• Staff Liaison Michel will look into this matter
