V. Chair Report
• Proclamation shared at the Village Board Meeting honoring the 31 st anniversary
of the passing of the American with Disabilities Act
VI. Trustee(s) report

VII. Staff Liaison report - Evan Michel
• Each officer in the BGPD is a certified crisis intervention officer
• This includes specialized training for individuals with disabilities (such as
Autism)
• They have refresher training each year
• Each police car is equipped with visual cards to help communicate with
non-verbal individuals
VIII. Sub-Committee reports
• Buffalo Grove Days — Debbie Verson /Judy Samuels
• General
■ Shuttle signup sheet—we need more people to sign up
• Riders and drivers will be wearing masks
• If you are running late or unable to drive contact JV and
Paulette who will have copies of the driving schedule
• When you arrive to drive, check-in with Mobile Corn to get
the walkie-talkie
■ Shuttle Training— 8/31 @ 7:30pm outside the Village Hall
• Fun and Food (September 6)
■ Kona Ice update
Volunteered to give out snow-cones
• We will know for sure in a couple of days
• We will need to give out stamps
■ Registration Link update
■ Runs from 10-11:30am
■ Commission should arrive by 9:30am
■ Table Registration = Marty and President Sussman, Donna
■ Remote Registration = Beth (with an iPad!), Gowri
■ Water table near registration
• Mark will be in charge

• Courtesy shuttle signs
• Buddy Baseball - Dean Klassman / Debbie Verson
• Wednesday 9/1 at 5pm, players arrive at 4:30pm, commissioners arrive at
4pm
■ Rain date Thursday 9/2
• Brian the clown is coming, DJ Smolensky is volunteering his time
• Use clamshells to serve the pizza
■ RKCRD commissioners can place pizza in closed clamshells to
keep warm and prevent food exposure
■ Pass out the clamshells with food to people and have a table
where people pick up food
No side of cheese and pepper flakes
Just cheese pizza this year— no sausage
■ Dean estimates 200 people attending
■ Evan will purchase additional clamshells
• Debbie to email Evan with the exact clamshells we want
and numbers needed
• Mark will bring 300 water bottles
• Donna and Debbie will bring pizza cutters
• Evan will get:
■ Pump bottles of hand sanitizers (10-12 bottles)
■ Disinfectant wipes
■ Coordinate public works bringing over three 8-foot folding tables
■ Big trash bags
■ Box or two of disposable masks
■ Tickets (for Fun & Food)
• Debbie has gloves for serving food

■ Player Check-In = Dean

o Parking
■ Due to construction, no parking on either side of Aptakisic Road
■ The street just south of the park is LaSalle— parking will be on
LaSalle, there is path to walk directly from there to the field
• There will be signs directing people to the field
■ Field parking lot is for players and handicap parking only
■ Evan will work with Debbie to determine if we can get a traffic
officer on site during the event

• Bowling with Buddies— Mark Weiner/ Jack Shapiro / Beth Shapiro
o Thursday, October 21 from 6-8pm at Bowlero
o Start promoting the event August 21 st
o Flier and notice will be emailed to all prior registrants
o Commissioners will serve the food rather than doing buffets
o Evan will update the date on the liability waiver and email it to Beth
o Mark will be meeting with Bowlero and Rotary in person to finalize details
■ Will also discuss if we should continue to serve food —depending
on COVI D
o Update the flier to remove "Dinner and Refreshments to All Bowlers" and
"Food & Refreshments For All Others for$5.00"

• Starting 2022 budget process, what types of programs or events would our
commission like to budget for? Identified so far:
o Fun and Food at BG Days—typical cost$300-$400
o Bowling with Buddies— typical cost$500
o New shirts - ??
o Email the traditional expenses to Evan for budgeting purposes
• Cling Ons - further discussion — deferred until November meeting
