I. Call to order at 7:05pm
• Commissioners Present: Rick Kahen, Jack Shapiro, Beth
Shapiro, Judy Samuels, Marty Sussman, Lexi Robinson,
Mark Weiner, Dean Klassman, Larry Sweica, Donna
Garfield, Leo Njongmeta
• Also Present Trustee Liaision Les Ottenheimer
• Commissioners Absent: Geri Miller Brown, David Morton,
Deb Verson
• Also present Trustee Liaisons and Dave Weidenfeld
• Staff Liaison Present: Brian Sheehan
II. Approval of minutes from July 25, 2018:

III. Buffalo Grove Days
• Chips, clam shells were purchased by Paulette
• Everyone is aware of what they need to pick up and when
• Shuttle signup
i. 1 six-seater, and 2 four-seaters
• Responsibilities
i. Arrive at Fun & Food by gam
• Parking passes
• New: Autism addition
i. Pre-school program, Roots, for children with autism
opened in Buffalo Grove
ii. Looking to connect with our commission
iii. They will have a sensory table and quiet space at
their booth at BG Days - we will help advertise this
at our events
• Fun & Food
i. Wristbands for rides
ii. Leo will bring tickets for food and ice cream from
Culvers
iii. Marty will look for stamps as an alternative
iv. Lexi, Marty, Bev, and Dean will help with
registration
• Buddy Baseball
i. Starts at 4pm, commissioners need to be present by
3:OOpm, buddies present at 3:45pm
ii. Jack will get 200lbs of ice
iii. Larry will bring 2 tables
iv. Rain date is Sunday at 4pm
v. 33 kids are signed up for buddy baseball!
vi. 5 people will throw out baseballs
vii. Deb to connect with Kelly Borcha in catering at Lou
Malnati's to have pizza delivered at 5:30pm
• Parade starts at 11am, we are #41
i. Larry's cell phone number is 847-815-3285, he will
pick people up from Cooper School where there is
parking

• State ID Cards Follow-Up
• Secretary of State Visit September 7t" (10am-2pm)
• Marty will rework the flier and pass it along to his contact
in District 96 and Stevenson
• Donna will send the information to District 102

• 501c3 process is being reflected upon, but not moving
forward at this time
