2021-08-31 - Buffalo Grove Days Committee - Minutes BG Days Committee Meeting August 31, 2020 Jackie Beegun, Alan Danenberg Karen Danenberg, Don Geno, Shari Ginsberg, Paulette Greenberg, Dave Haisma, Howard Hoffman, Ken Lazar, Adam Moodhe, Hal Norman, Rhonda Norman, Rodney Odelson, Les Ottenheimer, Jim Pawlak, Doug Primack, Jane Primack, Debbie Rybarczyk, Mike Skibbe, JV Springman, Andy Stein, Erika Strojinc, Debbie Verson, Paul Zucker, The meeting was called to order at 7:05. Chairman's Report: Paulette Greenberg/JV Springman Paulette had no report at this time. Police: Robert Broussard/Tara Anderson Bobby and Tara were not present. Mobile Com: Paul Zucker Paul asked if anyone needed a refresher for radio protocol. Everyone agreed that they were good with radio use. Paul reminded everyone to be a good listener. Fun and Food: Debbie Verson Debbie said that they are set to go. They still have openings for the courtesy shuttle, usually the later hours. Fire Department: Joe Welter Joe was not present Public Works: Dave Haisma/Mike Skibbe Dave stated that everything is set up and lined up and on schedule Dave thanked Chris and Josh for doing a great job. Dave also thanked the committee for all the work leading up to and through the weekend. JV thanked Public Works for all they do. Sponsorship: Erika Strojinc Erika said that there is no real update. She has worked with Adam about the video wall. Mike had the slides done and she is working with Adam to make sure it is compatible with the DJ. Paulette asked about the final number for sponsorship. Erika replied $24,500. Food Trucks: Paulette Greenberg Paulette stated that a week ago, she had only 3 trucks. Tonight, she has 10. Two more apps are still coming in. The following will be serving Friday, Saturday and Sunday, late afternoon and evenings Nani's Pizza and Pasta serving Chicken Fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers and fries Bill Bricks serving pizza Pierogi Rig serving Pierogis and Polish sausage Hawker Delights Cuisine serving fried rice (BBQ pork or chicken), chicken to mein, pot stickers, veggie dumplings, egg rolls, smoothie/bubble tea Tidbits Inc serving apple cider donuts with various toppings: sugar, glazed, M&M's, Oreo's Ziyadis Ice Cream Man serving ice cream novelties, ice cream cups, ice cream characters Saturday Only Riobamba Latin Kitchen serving tacos, nachos, quesadillas, dips and chips (guacamole, salsa, cheese sauce) Sunday only Gutt Truck serving meal of the day Green Cuisine serving hummus bowls, pit bread and babka treat Beverage Sales: Erika Strojinc Erika stated that she has nothing new. The trailers will be dropped on Friday around 10. The Park District is working out details on their end for staffing. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/ Karen stated that the Park District has provided 2 extra bands for the weekend. Karen said that everything is set with the video wall. Technical Production: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe Doug said that everything looking good. Adam stated that the stage will be dropped between 7 and 12 Friday. Adam told Dave that they can put up fencing in front before the stage drop. Since it is a smaller stage, they will have the room they need. They only need 1 1/Z hours to raise the stage. Dave stated that Chris will be the contact person Friday morning to bring in the stage Adam stated the video wall is on track. The sound is coming in Friday between 12 and 1. The sound check will be around 4:30. The bands are used to being there on time for that. Everyone knows to show up early for set up and sound check. Adam stated that he checked and there are no wireless mics in the contract. They will need 2 wireless mics for the Big Deal Production. Erika stated that if they need more than 2, she will need to get it from the production storage. Doug has a second wireless mic. Marketing/Publicity Alan Danenberg Alan stated that the website is up to date, running and fully functional, excluding the info received tonight about the Food Trucks. Alan stated that the Village put together social media posts about the festival. Alan has been picking them up and putting them on the website. Clicks and Shutters: Marian Rodriguez Jim took the committee picture Marian is supposed to be around on Saturday to take pictures. Paulette is not sure if she will show up or not. Hall will be around taking pictures. Information Boot: Marc Spunt JV has a signup sheet for info booth. Paulette stated that there will be a banner at the Info Booth, remembering Deann Glover Rick Kahen and Eric.Gordan. Carnival: Paulette Greenberg Paulette stated that she did get the layout for the Carnival. There are a total of 18 rides, 7 puke rides. They are here already. They are setting up now. Village Liaison: Mike Skibbe Mike thanked everyone for putting up with the new liaison. Other than that, he had no report. Trustee Liaison: Andy Stein/Les Andy and Les were not present. They had to go to a special Village Board meeting. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members JV stated that there will not be a party on Monday. The first night of Rosh Hashana is Monday night. We may try to do something later. Paulette stated it is a much smaller group this year. Erika stated the festival area is getting sprayed for bees this week. Erika said that she received notes from Andy about the parking lot. The Park District put something down to fill the worst of the cracks. JV thanked the Village and the Park District for all of the their hard work Paulette reminded everyone that Buddy Baseball is tomorrow night at 5:00. Rodney made a motion to adjourn.
