The meeting was called to order at 7:05.
Chairman's Report: JV Sprinman/Paulette Greenberg
JV asked if there were any corrections to the minutes. There were none. He then asked for
approval of the minutes. Rodney made a motion to accept the minutes. Mari seconded it.
A vole was taken and the minutes were approved.
Paulette was not present.
Eric is at the front table in Paulette's place as upcoming co-chair next year.
Police: Vince Positano/Michelle Kondrat
Vince had no report.
Parade: Rodney Odelson/Murray Sprung/Lee Orlov
Rodney stated that he had 9 participants for the parade. It is only June.
Mobile Com: Paul Zucher
Paul was not present and emailed his "no report"to Jane.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen
Rick stated that they are having participants RSVP online this year, using a google form.
They hope to get a more accurate count of participants to plan the food.
He stated that the information to sign up on line will be in the brochure with a link to the
form.
It will also be in the BG Days booklet and on the BG Days and the Village website.
Walk ups will be fine. They will not turn anyone down.
Fire Department: Joe Welter
Joe was not present.
Park District: Ryan Risinger
Ryan stated that all set. All of the events are ready to go.
They have to work on the race course for the 1 OK stampede because Buffo Creek will be
closed down for renovations. They need to figure out a new course.
Ryan stated that there have been no issues with the new site.
Ryan stated that the fitness center will be open. The plan is for the fitness center not to
close
Ryan stated that they will use the same parking format as last year.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Mike Reynolds
Mike stated that he met with the carnival guy. Mike will put together a plan to move the
Beer Tent closer to the Main Stage.
JV thanked Mike for all the work he has done for a better layout for the festival this year.
Sponsorship: Matt Settler
Matt stated that he has some money collected already for sponsorship and some
commitments received with no payments yet. He is working on other
companies/corporations for other sponsorships
Food Tent: Matt Settler
Matt stated that he has 13 letters of intent for restaurants. Matt is still waiting for all the
needed documents for those restaurants. Matt is still working on more applications.
He has one food cart.
Beer Tent: Chamber
Roger said that they decided to go with a national company this year, Miller Beer.
Roger stated that Half Day Brewery will also come with 3 of their craft beers. There will be
6-7 beers to choose from..
When asked, Roger said that the prices will be the same this year.
Jane stated that Stan Zoller wishes to talk to Brad or Roger about a different wine supplier.
He knows someone who is interested in pouring at the festival. Brad said he received an
email from Stan and will contact him.
Roger stated that the Rotary would like to work with the Chamber.
When asked, Roger confirmed that the bag tournament will be on Thursday.
The Business Fair has 15 booths so far. Roger said it is still early. He expects 25-30
booths. The Business Fair participants will have the option to bring their own tent. The
Business Fair will be integrated with the Arts and Craft Fair. They are also allowing
Business Fair participants to sell product/services this year.
Set Up/Take Down: Eric Gordon
Eric stated that the Rotary will also have volunteers there to help turn the Bingo Tent into
the Food Tent on Thursday night. Other than that, Eric had no report
Arts and Crafts: Jackie Beegun/Sarah Lee
Sara stated that they have 15 sold booths, 21 who have committed by email. They still
have more applications out.
Sara stated that there have been discussions about what is a crafter. The criteria for the
Arts and Craft Fair may change over the next year or two.
Kids Craft Tent: Jane Primack/Carol Irvin
Jane had no report.
Grilling Challenge: Eric Gordon/Ed Bjes
Ed stated that they will start sending out the flyers and registration forms, getting it on the
website.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen was not present but emailed her report to Jane.
All entertainment is booked for the mainstage, beer tent and kid's stage. Just a minor few
walk arounds are left to be booked.
Technical Production: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Doug had no report.
Doug wants to look at the new layout for golf cart access and beer tent space for delivery.
Marketing/Publicity Alan Danenberg/Penni Raphaelson
Alan thanked everyone for responding on the brochures content
Perini stated that she is working on the brochure. It is easier to shift items/information
around rather than create from the start.
Clicks and Shutters: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak-
Hal and Jim were not present. Rhonda gave their"no report".
Car Show: Cody and Diane Bartlett
Diane was not present.
Information Booth/Ice Man: Marc Spunt
Marc was not present and emailed his "no report"to Jane.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson
Debra stated that she had no report.
Village Liaison: Mike Reynolds
Mike stated that he had no report.
Trustee Liaison: Andy Stein/Joanne Johnson
Andy and Joanne were not present.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Steve asked about the Friends of Park running a 50150 raffle during the festival. Steve was
told that the Chamber has not signed on about that yet. Brad wants to make sure there are
no issues with the raffle. When asked, Steve said that they would sell the tickets at the
Park District booth.
JV stated that the next meeting will be June 26tn
Rodney made a motion to adjourn. Nancy seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:49.
