Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV welcomed everyone back. He stated that this is the first meeting of 2017 BG Days.
He also announced that this is Paulette's 24th year on the committee.
Paulette welcomed every back. She announced that this is the 121h year that she and JV
have chaired the committee together.
She and JV have met with the Village and secured the budgets for this year, which are the
same as last year.
By now, most people should have heard that Mo has resigned from this village committee
and plans to volunteer her time with the American Lung Association.
We had a few more people also resign for various reasons. We would like to replace these
people. If you know anyone who would like to join, please have them contact the village,
or Paulette or JV.
Overall, Paulette and JV received positive comments from the village about last year.
Everyone was very pleased with the new layout. We will be keeping the same general
layout but may move a few things around.
The bus routes from last year are being reviewed. They have requested that the bus traffic
be reversed with entrance to the festival on Rt. 83 and exiting onto Deerfield Parkway.
This way, passengers are dropped off on the sidewalk and don't have to cross in front of
the buses. Also, they are discussing different stops for the bus routes. The lesser used ones
may be combined and they are considering an "express"bus from one location to the
festival with no stops.
Last year, many people thought they would be able to park on the grounds. They forgot we
never had onsite parking in the past. This year the health club lot will only be available
with 1 row for handicapped parking, approximately 42 spaces at the south end of the
parking lot. The rest of the lot will be open to health club members during health club
operating hours
The Fun and Food Program has agreed to run the handicap carts for the entire weekend.
Our committee members will be supplying some driving of the carts during the weekend.
Those who are not certified to drive the golf cars may have to be tested prior to the festival.
Paulette will check with Geoff at the golf course for further info.
Paulette stated that we will have the trailer porta potties again this year. The contract is
already signed. Public Works will do an adjustment on the water to the portable toilets.
There was a problem that the water pressure was not strong enough which may be the
cause of the "sludge"build up last year.
The Village has retained a new cleaning service. Paulette has been assured no volunteer
should be cleaning the porta potties again this year. The new company is supposed to have
a minimum of 5 people on site to clean the food tent, empty the garbage cans, clean the
field and maintain the porta potties.
Paulette stated that 3 committees need a backup chair, Publicity, Parking and the BBQ
Challenge. If you are interested, speak to Alan D. for publicity, Alan N for Parking and
Chuck for the BBQ Challenge.
If you want to be named as a village commissioner to any village committee, then you must
complete the Open Meetings Act. This needs to be completed annually, due this year by
May 1st.. Access is on line. http://foia.ilattorneygeneral.net.
There are 2 new jobs that need chair persons. The first is from our committee to the Fun
and Food Program. Debra volunteered.
The other is a new event on Monday, a car show. Cody and Diane volunteered to chair the
new sub-committee.
The Chamber has agreed to sell beer on Monday, approximately 11-3, if we do run the car
show.

The rest of the bands are slowly getting put together.
Karen stated that we have to talk about the dancers she is looking to book. She has a
number of acts but she is concerned about the bad location for them. She said that we need
to rethink the space or not have dancers this year.

this year during the festival. Paulette stated that when it closes, the parking lots are

Paulette stated she has received a letter from a new company to sell glow stuff. It was
