Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg Paulette brought the new shirts again tonight, reminding everyone they only get two blue shirts. If they do not fit, bring them back to exchange for new ones. Paulette stated we are at 17 days before the start of fest. The parking passes were passed out to the vendors at the vendor meeting. Paulette stated that she and Dave are measuring spaces for the tents. Per JV next Tuesday's meeting is at our new location, at 6:30, outside. Wear your blue shirt for pictures. Do not wear the tie dye. In the event of rain, we will meet at village hall. Provided there is no rain, the committee will review the carnival set up, the Food Tent, and fencing that will be placed. Paulette stated that the new toilets are nice and will be cleaned daily. Paulette stated that the golf carts will be there; but will not be assigned to anyone specific except for the tech guys. JV stated the feather flags will be moved to each appropriate activity. Police: Vince Positano/Tony Goldstein Tony had no report. There were committee questions regarding the officers and entry/exits. Both Vince and Tony answered. Entry/exits will be located at the carnival, the food tent, the beer tent and the streets leading into the festival area. There will be no tent by MobileComm. Rather there will be a trailer. Parade: Rodney Odelson//Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung Rodney stated he needs another driver for second Grand Marshal. Rodney requested two people to go over to the dealership to pick up the cars. Next week he will need assistance on Wednesday from 5:30-6 to drop off flyers into doorways, not in mailboxes. Meet at Terrace and Bernard. He has 90 participates. He is $125 under budget. Mobile Com: Paul Zucher Paul stated there will be 15 departments/groups/agencies working with during fest. They will be located in the spray park area, at the NE corner lot by the dome. They will have three cameras that can pan/tilt. They can see the area however they cannot see inside the tents. Radio etiquette: Only one person at a time can speak. Transmit only when needed and be prepared, think about what you are going to say. Emergency radio traffic is priority. Keep messages short. The correct protocol is to say"Mobile Com (from your name)" so they hear right away. Wait for a response. If you have an emergency/priority, say so right away. When reporting you should think four things: who, what, why, and where. Specify the location such as at the carnival by the Ferris wheel entrance. Medical issues might not be emergencies, like blisters. Give type of medical issue you are reporting. State whether the person is conscious and or breathing. It is not necessary to give type of clothing/age/sex. Paramedics and first aid personnel are on site. Regarding lost parent or child gather info give to MC and they relay. For missing parent/child, gather the info for the best description you can. Mobile Com will send a Police Department officer as escort to move from the location. Remember to report color codes of park lot. Stay on channel one, except during the parade. Then everyone who is involved with the parade will use channel three. You will receive an ear piece, a microphone, and radio. If will be getting radio daily, you may keep the ear bud/mic. There will be alcohol wipes available to clean the ear buds. You are responsible for each and every radio (approx. $700 each)you sign out. Mobile Com will test the ear/mic/radio daily before you leave. Each user will be given a blue light stick. In case of emergency at night you will use it to mark your location. Fun and Food: Mara Sabath/Mo Welborn Mo is looking for someone to pick up cookies at McDonalds on Monday. Karen has a vendor with popsicles which will be in an ice chest by Ron. For Buddy Baseball set up will be at 4. They will need three tables, garbage cans, and bathrooms open at the park. The Park District will take care of that. Fire Department: Joe Welter Joe bad no report. Park District: Teri Ebner/Allison Christopoulos Allison had no report. They are all set. Public Works: Dave Haisma/Mike Reynolds Dave stated is no clean team on the property. Waste Management asks we empty recycle containers into the dumpster out of the bags. The Cleaning Team may be there on our viewing area. They are not to clean. Paulette asked about spraying for bees and mosquitos. There will be nothing at Rotary Green this year. Karen requested painted aisles for the Main Stage field. Dave said not this year. Eric requested vacuum and blower for our evening cleaning after bingo. Dave reported we will get at least one of each of an electric blower and vacuum, which will have gas and be ready to go. All committee members should be available for reconfiguring the Food Tent at approximately 10 to 10:30. Chamber/Local Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Roger Sosa Roger stated all is in place. Softball will be on Wednesday. Friday, 7 PM will be beer tasting. Roger said that he can use more volunteers for Saturday and Sunday. The bags tourney is back. Food Tent: Debra Jess/Penn Raphaelson Perini sent the restaurant info to Jane and gave each restaurant's offerings. She requested to speak with Dave regarding a new layout for the Food Tent. Perini was wondering if hand sanitizer would be available on the food stands. Paulette added that to her shopping list. Set Up Man: Eric Gordon Eric stated between they would begin cleaning and switching the Bingo Tent to the Food Tent between 10 and 10:30. He suggested people arrive with work gloves. Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak/Jackie Beegun Jim said he has 36 crafters and 6 not for profits. He mailed the packets out Sunday. Van Man: Eric Gordon Eric requested a radio. He said he is pretty set. There are still has openings available for volunteers. Kids Craft Tent: Roshel Rivellino/Jane Primack Jane was not present. Jane is done shopping and is under budget, thanks to donations and freecycle. She is working on the kid's schedule. She needs one adult to sign up to help man the tent from 12-5 each day in case she or Roshel have to leave. Signup sheet is up front. Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Matt Dionesotes Chuck stated had 14 grillers this year, not the 25 from last year. He expects more this week. He has 42 plates this year vs 70 last year. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak Karen stated she is good to go. Main Stage will use the yellow parking lot with matching (yellow) wristbands to show you should be there (family members, guests, etc.) Technical Production: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe Doug stated that the stage/sound set up could come in Thursday or Friday morning. No key will be needed for Rotary Green as there will be no music/sound there per Karen. Adam has gotten the electrical requirements to Public Works. They will need a one inch PVC conduit. The Beer Tent sound will be set up also. Publicity: Alan Danenberg Alan stated that he got the brochures from printer. They are being mailed out this week to the residents. We will have copies on site. Alan requested holders from Public Works to secure them. He is finalizing the WXLC radio spot. Clicks and Shutters: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak- Jim stated they are ready to go. Jim asked if someone wants specific photos or a group shot please advise he or Hal. The committee picture will at next week's meeting. Wear your blue shirt. Information Booth: Marc Spunt/Mo Welborn Mark said all is good. Marc reminded everyone to sign in so you may be able to help other locations/events. Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson Debra stated that they are good to go. Iceman: Ron Jess Ron was not present. Parking and Traffic Control: Alan Nudelman Alan was given the parking passes. He had no report. Village Liaison: Scott Anderson Scott was not present. Trustee Liaison: Andy Stein/Steve Trilling Andy and Steve were present but had no report. DeAnn was also present. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members Questions arose regarding buses routes, scheduling and pick up areas. Paulette gave the info needed. Chuck stated their karaoke party will be Saturday, September 10th at their house. Jane will send notification so please open her email. Steve Antman thanked Public Works for all their new signage. JV thanked the Police Department for the electric sign boards. THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE TUESDAY, AUGUST 30th AT THE NEW FEST SITE!!!!!! IN CASE OF RAIN, WE WILL BE BACK AT VILLAGE HALL WEAR YOUR BLUE SHIRTS, NOT THE TIE DYE SHIRTS FOR PICTURES. Rodney made a motion to adjourn. Jackie seconded the motion.
