The meeting was called to order at 7:02.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that we have 4 more meeting after tonight.
Paulette stated that the last 2 weeks have been very busy.
1. The shirts have been ordered and are in. Currently they are at the silk screeners in
Mundelien. They will have "Staff' on the back.
2. Tonight is the last night for ordering name tags.
3. Paulette met with the village staff and they hammered out the parking permits and
parking lots. Also they discussed placement of some of the carnival rides.
Everything is now clarified and worked out.
4. In regards to the newsletter, we had a drop dead deadline of August 5t". Today the
village advised them the final date is tomorrow July 27t". There was no explanation
as to why the change of 8 business days. They are still waiting to review the
additions/updates.
5. The parade co-chairs have been worked out.
6. In regards to golf carts, we will have several gaters, one for arts and crafts, one for
entertainment, and one for general use. We will have 6 additional carts for our use.
The parade golf carts will come from the golf course on Sunday. In addition we
will have one 6 seater for disability with a roof and headlights and one four seater
with roof and headlights for the disability carts. At night all golf carts will be
parked in the fenced in area by the golf dome. We will have the key.
7. In regards to the Cubs ticket raffle, the tickets are on sale weekly at the farmers
market. They have sold a bit more than S200 to date. They are 2 tickets for $10 or
5 tickets for $20. We will be selling these tickets in the info booth during the
festival.
8. The shuttle bus routes have been worked out and confirmed. There will be 2 routes
in Cook County and 2 routes in Lake County. There will be no stop at Town
Center this year.
JV thanked Paulette for all her hard work.
Police: Vince Positano/Tony Goldstein
Tony had a meeting about the parking issues. He was happy they have squared away a few
issues.
Parade: Rodney Odelson//Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung
Rodney stated that there will be one.
He has picked up all the plaques. With 2 co marshals, the price went up.
Rodney said that 40 applications have come in. He is still waiting for 5 Village Board
members.
Mobile Com: Paul Zucher
Paul could not attend and emailed his "no report" to Jane.
Paulette stated that the radios are ordered.
Fun and Food: Mara Sabath/Mo Welborn
Mo said she checked before the meeting and they have enough goodie bags to last for this
year.
For food, Mike Alvarez from the Village Tavern is donating spaghetti and sauce for 300
people out of his own pocket. They will not be in the Food Tent this year.
Fire Department: Joe Welter
Joe was not present but emailed his "no report"to Jane
Park District: Teri Ebner/Allison Christopoulos No report
Allison introduced their other new summer intern.
Next Tuesday will be National Night Out at Willow Stream Park. There will be food and
fun. This helps to promote crime stoppers.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Mike Reynolds
Dave was not present.
JV stated it's not August yet.
Paulette stated that they are doing a lot of work behind the scenes.
There will be a 6x8 foot sign on Route 83 near the farmer's market location announcing the
new location for the festival. There will be 6 feather flags, 12 feet tall.
None of the signs are dated so all will be reusable for a number of years.
Chamber/Local Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Roger Sosa
Paulette had Roger's report.
A local brewery, Prairie Krafts Brewery,has been chosen by the Chamber's the exclusive
beer provider this year. They are also making a$1600 donation to BG Days. They will
also offer Mike's Hard Lemonade and Moscow Mules (instead of Mai Tai's which Bob
Chin's no longer sells). The Chamber plans to do a lot of marketing and e-news blasts.
Prairie Drafts is a craft brewery. They are considering serving beer flights of 4 taste
samples for a beer ticket. They may also do a tasting lesson during the afternoon when it is
slow.
Food Tent: Debra Jess/Penn Raphaelson
Debra stated that there are still a few slots open. They are going to other vendors.
Everything is good.
Set Up Man: Eric Gordon
Eric was unable to attend but emailed his "no report" to Jane.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak/Jackie Beegun
Jim stated that currently they have 21 crafters signed up. He is anticipating getting up to 30.
He knows of 10 more that are coming in.
Jim wanted to confirm the parking lot for the crafters.
Jim stated that Jackie has been helpful about getting additional craters toward the festival.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric could not attend but emailed his "no report"to Jane.
Paulette stated that the van is rented.
Kids Craft Tent: Roshel Rivellino/Jane Primack
Jane stated there will be crafts and there will be kids.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Matt Dionesotes
Chuck states he has 4 grillers and 11 plates.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen could not be present but emailed her report to Jane.
All entertainment is complete. A special push will be advertised for children 4-10 to
participate in "Jedi Training". The Main Stage and Beer Tent entertainers will park in the
yellow lot and all other entertainers will be in the green lot
Technical Production: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Adam met with stage people and set up hard spots for the stage layout and positioning. He
will meet with the sound company tomorrow to make sure they have the angles correct to
assure it is not aimed at the nearby homes.
The Main Stage will be pulled out on Sunday night.
Publicity/Marketing: Alan Danenberg/ Cristel Mohrman
Alan could not be present but emailed his report to Jane.
Brochure is being finished at printer. If any more information needs to be included, they
need to know now.
Cristal said they need the logos, names and spellings for all people donating to the festival.
Soft ball game will be Wednesday at Rylko Park.
Cristal said that the map design is also in its final stages. The website is running updated
with last minute changes.
There will be ads online and in the Daily Herald and the Herald special sections.
Clicks and Shutters: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak-
Jim had no report.
Betty Lou said she would like to help with photography on Friday.

Marc could not attend and emailed his "no report" to Jane.
Mo had no report.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penn Raphaelsonhard on it.
Debra stated that they are working on the parking and layout.
The posters are ordered and should arrive next week. Debra stated that Alan and Cristal
worked really on the posters. There will $5 off on wrist bands if bought on line.
Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron stated that he needs electricity as soon as the ice machines come in on Thursday.
Doug said the electricity comes in on Thursday.
Parking and Traffic Control: Alan Nudelman
Alan stated that things are coming together and hopefully there will be no more tweaks.
The green parking permits will be numbered. Committee members will be required to sign
the permit next to number. There are 175 spots in the green lot.
Penni asked about parking for vendors. They also will be numbered and Penni is to keep
track of which restaurant gets what numbered pass. Each restaurant will get 2 drop off
passes.
Alan stated that there are 20 hours to cover the parking and traffic control. He will need 2-
3 people per hour. The signup sheet is in front.
An electronic version will also be available.
Alan said that each volunteer will get a vest and a light up wand to be official.
Village Liaison: Scott Anderson
Scot was not present.
Trustee Liaison: Andy Stein/Steve Trilling
Steve had no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Rodney wanted to discuss the Monday after the festival party. Normally, it is paid for by
Paulette, JV and the two trustees. Rodney suggests that committee members attending toss
some money in the jar to help pay.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Rodney seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.
