VILLAGE OF BLIFFA LO GROVE E:3u u�flo+- 'uyP',1, III 17(bd„)89 r 196 VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Minutes of Special Meeting August 10, 2016 CALL TO ORDER and ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. by Chairman Kahn in the Conference Room of the Chief of Police. Commissioner Dibbern called the roll and noted for the record that a quorum was present at the meeting. Present were Chairman Kahn, Commissioners Rubin, Johnson, Hartman and Dibbern. Also in attendance were Police Chief Casstevens and Deputy Police Chief Szos. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: None CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: A. Chairman Kahn noted in preliminary conversations that there are 8 lateral police officer candidates in common for discussion in executive session. COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS: None CHIEF AND TRUSTEE REPORTS: None QUESTIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None EXECUTIVE SESSION: A motion was made at 6:07 p.m.by Commissioner Dibbern, seconded by Commissioner Hartman, for the Board to adjourn to a Closed Executive Session as authorized by Subsection 2(a) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act [5ILCS 120/2(c)(1)] for the purpose of discussing personnel matters and as authorized by Subsection 2(a) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act [5ILCS 120/2(c)(21)] for the purpose of the discussion of police lateral entry candidates. Commissioners Rubin, Johnson, Hartman, Dibbern and Kahn voted in favor of the motion. The motion passed. The Commission moved to Executive Meeting from 6:07 p.m. to 6:42 p.m. A. Executive Session — Discussion of Personnel: Section 2(C) (1) of the Illinois Open Meeting Act. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: The open session resumed at 6:43 p.m. Chairman Kahn reported that 13 candidates will be interviewed on August 20. He asked Secretary Dibbern to prepare a schedule for the applicants. The same questions from the previous oral testing will be used again. Commissioner Johnson will not be available for interviewing on August 20. Page 1 of 2 ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Commissioner Rubin, seconded by Commissioner Dibbern, to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 p.m. All Commissioners present voted in favor of the motion.
