A motion wae made by Bonnie Factor to approve the Coc�aisaion Minutes o! Auquet
24, 1993. Motion was seconded by Diana Broslow. Motion pasaed by genoral

Howard Eiseman reported that he was atill expectinq matsrials from two
communities. Diane Breslow waa expectinq materials from Evanaton and
Wilmette. Bonni� Factor brouqht materials from Whe�linq and a book �ntitled
the Elderlv Servicea of Greater Chicaao. Bonni• also mentioned that she would
be happy to donate a copy of the DuPaae Countv 3ervices Reaource Directorv.
Harriet mention�d that sha was invited to visit the wheelinq Townahip Senior
Sarvicos olficos to "ch�ck out" th�ir rofer�nce matorials. Bonni• Factor

concorninq th� Goals of the Coarnission. Referance was mad� to thQ
Intarqovernm�ntal l�qraement (Specitically l�rticl• III, Duties and
Powers, Sections C, B, 1�, G, H, and I).

what aarvicas arQ needQd by older adults. Suqqestions wer� mad� on how
to b�at collact the data. Thos� includQd surveya and in peraon
int�rviews or me�tinqs. A concern was how to reach tha tarqet audience
for th� survoy In ord�r to davelop our mailinq list, this may
iacluda contactinq p�opl• at apartmQat canpl�xes, town homea,
condaainiums, haneownere associations, churches and synaqoques.

B. �teference Library - It was decided that Commisaion members would beqia ;
collectinq raferenca materfals rQlativQ to Leqal, Legislative, Health,
Housinq, and Transportation. The library would primarily serve as a
rasource tor the Commission. The materiale would also bo used for
rQfarral purposas. It was decidQd that a cabinat should bo purchasad
for thi• purp�sf as soon as funds lrom the Villago and Park District
could be provided. Park Diatrict Liaison Dan Schimawl volunteer�d the
Senior Lounqe aa a locatioa for this cabinet.
In addition, Diana Brealow and Gina Sheade volunteered to maintaia th�
r�ter�ace library.
C. ChairpQrson Rubinst�in announcad that sha ia seekinq voluntears who wish
to aorvQ as Vica Chair or Sacratary. Sha hopad to rocommand candidata•
