g
ihere was some disappointment with the report made by Earl Sabis, Transportation Commission
Chair, ihe feeling was that the meeting was successful. A major emphasis was placed on getting
the information out on services that are currenily available. Dan reported that he had asked for
a follow up meeting with township ocials from Wheeling and Vernor and the village to
consolidate information. The intent is to take this information and to distribute it wherever we
fee!that seniors will have easy access to the information. A critical part of this process will be
to train our 'front desk"employees on how seniors can benefit from ihese services. It was also
reported that Phil Versten had placed information on the village's taxi subsidy program in the
most recent village newsletter. The result was a quick 10-12 calls from people wanting to know
more about it or wanting to register.
