A. R-2017-30 Resolution Ceding the 2017 Unused Private Activity Bond Volume Cap of the
Village of Buffalo Grove(Including Volume Cap Transferred from Other Lake County
Home Rule Units)to Lake County (Trustee Berman) (Staff Contact: Jenny Maltas)
SUMMARY: Buffalo Grove is the host of the Lake County Partners Private Activity Bond
Clearinghouse. The Resolution is required annually so that unused funds can be
transferred over to the next year and used in the future.
B. 0-2017-48 Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Groundwater as a Potable Water Supply by
the Installation or Use of Potable Water Supply Wells or by Any Other Method. (Trustee
Stein) (Staff Contact: Darren Monico)
SUMMARY: The Illinois Environmental Agency has determined that the area around the
intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Pekara Drive has groundwater contamination that
is unsafe for potable water and is requesting the Village to restrict potable wells in this
area.
C. 0-2017-49 Ordinance Granting Preliminary Plan Approval and a Special Use for
Meridian School at 2195 Brandywyn Lane (Trustee Ottenheimer) (Staff Contact: Chris
Stilling)
SUMMARY:Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 is proposing an addition, along with other
improvements, to the existing Meridian Middle School at 2195 Brandywyn Lane. The
school property is currently zoned R1 and elementary schools are a special use.As a
result of the changes, a special use is required.
D. 0-2017-50 Ordinance Approving an Amendment to Special Use Ordinance 97-4, 2015-
56&2016-48 for 1501 Busch Parkway (Trustee Stein) (Staff Contact: Chris Stilling)
SUMMARY: In 2015, the Village Board approved Ordinance 2015-56 granting an
amendment to the special use Ordinance for an expansion of Sky Fitness's facility. In
October 2016,this Ordinance was further amended to accommodate revised plans. Sky
Fitness ultimately decided not to construct the addition and has developed a new concept
to expand their facility.As a result, another amendment is required.
E. Proclamation Recognizing National Drunk&Drugged Driving (3D) Prevention Month

SUMMARY: Declares December 2017 as National Drunk and Drugged Driving
Prevention Month.
F. Award of Contract Newsletter Printing (Trustee Johnson) (Staff Contact: Brett Robinson)
SUMMARY: Staff recommends an award of contract to Presstech Inc., in an amount not
to exceed $21,081.00 for newsletter printing services.
G. MPI Emergency Contractor Assistance (Trustee Stein) (Staff Contact: Brett Robinson)
SUMMARY: Staff recommends an award of bid for Emergency Contractor Assistance to
the following three contractors, DiMeo Brothers, Inc. Mark Mead Excavators, Inc., and
Kloepfer Construction, Inc.
H. Carpet Award of Bid (Trustee Stein) (Staff Contact: Brett Robinson)
SUMMARY: Staff is recommends an award of bid to the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder, Tiles in Style in an amount not to exceed$31,498.00.
Municipal Compliance Report-Police Pension Fund (Trustee Johnson) (Staff Contact:

SUMMARY: The following report is required to be accepted by the Village Board prior to
the extension of property taxes for the Article 3&4 pension funds. The report provides a
summary of revenues and expenditures,the actuarial amount of the levy, and a series of
assumptions used.

12. Questions From the Audience
Questions from the audience are limited to items that are not on the regular agenda. In
accordance with Section 2.02.070 of the Municipal Code, discussion on questions from the
audience will be limited to 10 minutes and should be limited to concerns or comments regarding
issues that are relevant to Village business. All members of the public addressing the Village
Board shall maintain proper decorum and refrain from making disrespectful remarks or comments
relating to individuals. Speakers shall use every attempt to not be repetitive of points that have
been made by others. The Village Board may refer any matter of public comment to the Village
Manager,Village staff or an appropriate agency for review.
13. Adjournment
The Village Board will make every effort to accommodate all items on the agenda by 10:30 p.m.
The Board, does, however, reserve the right to defer consideration of matters to another meeting
should the discussion run past 10:30 p.m.
