F. 0-2020-23 Approve an Ordinance Granting a Variation for an Accessory Structure
Within Green Lake Park at the Northeast Corner of Green Knolls Drive and Deerfield

The Buffalo Grove Park District is proposing to make improvements within the existing
Green Lake Park.The Park District is looking to improve the park with an accessory
structure (gazebo)that exceeds maximum allowable height. As a result, a variation is
required.

12. Questions From the Audience
Questions from the audience are limited to items that are not on the regular agenda. In
accordance with Section 2.02.070 of the Municipal Code, discussion on questions from the
audience will be limited to 10 minutes and should be limited to concerns or comments regarding
issues that are relevant to Village business. All members of the public addressing the Village
Board shall maintain proper decorum and refrain from making disrespectful remarks or comments
relating to individuals. Speakers shall use every attempt to not be repetitive of points that have
been made by others. The Village Board may refer any matter of public comment to the Village
Manager, Village staff or an appropriate agency for review.

A. Proclamation Recognizing Earth Hour 2020 (President Sussman) (Staff Contact: Brett

SUMMARY: Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney,Australia when 2.2 million individuals
and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand
against climate change. With almost five million supporters and a global network in over
100 countries/territories, Earth Hour is now one of the world's largest and most respected
movements.
B. Distracted Driving Awareness Month 2020 (Trustee Smith) (Staff Contact: Steven

SUMMARY:The Village recognizes April 2020 as Distracted Driving Awareness month.
C. Authorization to Execute Contract Extensions with Multiple Vendors (Trustee
Weidenfeld) (Staff Contact: Brett Robinson)
SUMMARY: Staff recommends that the Village President and Board of Trustees
authorize staff to execute the following Contract extensions as listed below and further
detailed in the attached memo.
A two year extension with Hillside Auto body, for Towing Services.
A third contract option with Paramedic Billing Services,for Ambulance and Fire Billing
Services
A second year contract option with Fire Safety Consultants, Inc.for third party plan
review services
A fourth year contract option with Aramark Uniform Services for floor mat and shop towel
rental and cleaning.
The second and final contract option with Acres Group.,for Tree Planting Services
The third and final contract option with American Hoist and Manlift Inc.,for elevator
maintenance services
D. MFT- Documentation Review Covering the Receipt and Disbursement of Motor Fuel Tax
(MFT) Funds by the Village for the Period Beginning January 1, 2009 and Ending
December 31, 2018. (Trustee Weidenfeld) (Staff Contact: Julie Kamka)
SUMMARY:The Illinois Department of Transportation certifies that they have reviewed
their records in so far as they pertain to the receipt and disbursement of the Motor Fuel
Tax Fund of the Village of Buffalo Grove for the period beginning Jan. 1, 2009 and ending
Dec. 31, 2018, and that entries for the receipts in these books and records are true and
correct and are in agreement with the records maintained by the Department of
Transportation and that entries for disbursements are supported by cancelled warrants or
checks with exceptions noted in the compliance review findings.
E. R-2020-13 Adopt the Village's 2020 Zoning Map (Trustee Stein) (Staff Contact: Chris
Stilling)
SUMMARY: Pursuant to State Statute,the Village of Buffalo Grove is required to publish
its official zoning map by March 31, 2020. The latest zoning map is attached and reflects
one change in 2019. Staff recommends approval.
