MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING OF THE VILLAGE BOARD OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE,HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS,
50 RAUPP BOULEVARD,BUFFALO GROVE,ILLINOIS ON MONDAY,DECEMBER 8, 1997
CALL TO ORDER
President Mathias called the meeting to order at 7:37 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Roll call indicated the following present: President Mathias,Trustees Marienthal,Reid,Rubin,Hendricks, and
Glover. Trustee Braiman arrived at 7:45 P.M.
Also present were: William Balling,Village Manager; William Raysa,Village Attorney; Lee Szymborski,
Assistant Village Manager; William Brimm,Finance Director; Robert Pfeil,Village Planner; and Richard
Kuenkler,Village Engineer.
SHELL/McDONALD'S
President Mathias clarified the format for the Committee of the Whole meeting, and noted that it is a workshop
meeting for the Board, and is not a time for public input.
Mr. Balling brought the Board up to date on the history of this property.
George Maurides,representing the petitioner,made a presentation to the Board,referring to the Site/Landscape
Plan. Details of his presentation are contained in Mr. Balling's memo to the Board of December 4, 1997.
After lengthy discussion by the Board,President Mathias conducted several pollings to determine exactly what the
Board will accept on this site.
The results of the pollings indicate that:
the play place may be built now
the Village will share in the cost of a traffic signal
there will never be a lube facility on the site
limited access on Fremont will be permitted.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Glover, seconded by Reid to adjourn the meeting. Upon voice vote,the motion was unanimously
declared carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
