Meeting called to order at 7:10 P.M.
March 7`h Dinner: Judy reports things are rolling along - 93 responses so far. She showed the
table decorations & gift bags. She has 6 rolls of paper for signatures to be put into the time
capsule. We'll use a new roll at each event this year. Jewel gave some gift certificates - Judy has
already discussed with the Floral Shop at Jewel for some fresh flower arrangements. History
book should be done and one will be put into each gift bag along with a key chain etc.
March 8-9`h Open House: Nancy is putting together a schedule for all committee members to be
at the tables, displays, etc. during this 1:00-4:00 P.M. open house. Everyone needs to sign up and
Nancy will try to accommodate requests. We will wear our committee shirts. Paulette has a
commitment from Eli's Cheesecakes for 2 cases (112 slices). Janet says we may need to buy
additional product from them. Paper goods needed to purchase: paper plates, napkins and plastic
forks.
April 27th Open House: All committee members will be there 11:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M., varying
shifts. The Buffalo head is still at the taxidermist being groomed. Paulette has spoken to Tom at
Astro Amusements - he is 80% sure we can have a Moonwalk or similar bouncy thing as an in-
kind donation. Key chains ¬e cards will be for sale.
History Book: Nearly finished - being proof read and should be at the printer's next week
(sample copy passed around).
Car Show/Sock Hop: Paulette reports the sub-committee met recently. There will be games
during the day and repeated at night(hula hoops, paddle ball, bubble gum bubbles, etc.). Ribbons
will be awarded to the winners. Anyone who wants to bring a car into the car show will pay the
$15 fee, as the show is being managed by the Chicago land Classic Car Club. A disc jockey will
be there from approximately 10:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Vendors lined up include hot dogs,
popcorn, ice cream, water/soft drinks. At night pizza and possibly White Castle hamburgers.
(Also working on Dunkin Donuts for early morning).
At night- Janet has decided no alcoholic beverages and wants to pass out free water &pop.
Also Murray's auto parts store is giving us products to raffle off. Village keeps proceeds. We
will have a table set up to sell tickets, along with the Buffalo Bobby stuffed animal ($5 each).
Dick Biondi will beat the dance from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. A $5 admission fee will be
charged at the door - kids 12 &under free. We will set up tables at the entrance to the PW
parking lot and sell tickets.
Jane showed copies of the big board currently at Village Hall and the Park District announcing the
various upcoming activities for the 50rh - she is putting some of these at various locations. Susan
showed copies of flyers with the activities that will be handed out at various events, i.e. Art Fair,
Concert, etc.
Band Concert: No report.
Park District:No report.
Displays: Per Jane, all under control.
Time Capsule: No report.
License plates: Ernie report 50 sold to date - 450 to go! Info will be in the March and May
Village Newsletters.
BG Days: No report(1st meeting 2/12/08).
Garden Club: No report.
Veteran Displays: No report.
Chocolates: Long Grove Confectionery has the diagrams, etc. They know what we need and the
banquet date.
Sponsorship: Barb Heinrich reports Hamilton Partners spoke with Rich and plan to donate
unknown amount to the 50rh. They want to be listed in the history book as a sponsor. (History
book is ready for printing).
