MARCH 7TH DINNER: Janet thanked everyone for the success of the dinner on March 7th. She especially thanked Judy, Judith, Beverly, Barb & Arlene for putting it all together. OPEN HOUSE—MARCH 8Tx & 9TH: Went very well. Janet again thanked the committee for talking her out of an outdoor event for that weekend! It was good to see the 300-400 people that passed through Village Hall on Saturday & Sunday. Many people stayed and watched the videos and signed the time capsule scrolls. APRIL 27th OPEN HOUSE: Janet is very pleased that so many village employees & departments have gotten involved in planning this event. Susan & Ghida have put together a tri-fold brochure with the activities for that day. (Copies passed around for corrections/additions). Committee members should sign up to be there during the day to assist with questions etc. Nancy has the sign-up sheet. Beverly requested more handicapped parking spaces be allotted for the event, around Village Hall. (Janet has no info on the Hot Dog guy - will follow up) LOGO: It's all over the village! The light pole banners look great. Public Works Department made the Happy Birthday signs which are up around the Village. HISTORY BOOK: Many nice compliments have come in concerning the history book. Overall, it is a great book! Kudos to the committee who assembled it. CAR SHOW/SOCK HOP: Paulette reports: Cloverleaf Bottling is the only area vendor for Green River soda. They can supply 20 oz bottles/24 to a case/$13 per case/minimum 7 case orders. Delivery included and a Green River sign for decoration. They also sell Dog `n Suds root beer. Janet agrees to a 7 case purchase of Green River. Coca Cola- spoke with Company they have an 8 oz glass bottle regular/diet of Coke - 24 bottles per case - minimum 10 case order. They also can supply Fanta orange, grape, strawberry soda. The salesman would ask Coke for a donation of some of the product in exchange for in-kind sponsorship acknowledgement. Janet says no —cheaper to purchase locally. BG has never charged admission for any BG Days concerts, nor does the Park District charge for concerts. Charging admission fee - hard to swallow. Subcommittee requests we change this to a suggested donation of$5 - after discussion Janet agreed. Spoke with Pete - Dick Biondi's manager. They will do dances such as the Stroll, Jitter Bug and any other requests we have - open to suggestions. They will bring 3-4 hula hoops and some prizes for give aways (we will give out ribbons or something similar). Referred Pete to Adam Moodhe, our sound guy, so they can discuss what is needed. We will have planned games for day and night. We will purchase 12 hula hoops, bubble gum, paddle balls, etc. (Betty Lou is handling games and scheduling). The commercial-size coolers have been found and the Boy Scouts have agreed to let us use them! We will arrange pick up and delivery. Food Vendors - spoke with White Castle - they will not sell product outside of their stores. Still working on Dunkin Donuts for the morning. We do have Starlight Skating Club and BG Expressions selling water/soda in the day time. They have agreed to sell for no more than $1 each. Here's the Scoop Ice Cream will sell daytime & evening.
