Meeting called to order at 7:05 P.M.
Open House March 8th & 9th - Discussion closed.
Open House April 27th.
Jane explained Nancy is handling the table assignments for committee members. Be sure to wear
the blue shirts &name tags. A brochure has been made up with all the times of the various
demonstrations. Every department in the Village has contributed to this event. Jane also
mentioned the Dominick's & Jewel stores have donated pop/water. Deerfield's bakery has
donated cupcakes. There also are 2 other cakes to be served.
Hot dogs will be served until 3:00 P.M. The Moon Walk will be up until approximately 4:30
P.M. (committee members will assist in monitoring the Moon Walk). Various displays will be in
the Council Chambers and others under the tent in Public Works parking lot. License plates &
Buffalo Bobby's will be sold at the Village front desk.
The buffalo head has been hung up in the Council Chambers.
The helicopter demo will land in St. Mary field.
Janet reminded committee members to park in the police station parking lot.
Car Show - Sock Hop:
Ron, Russ & Tom of the Chicagoland Classic Car club attended and explained how they will
handle the show. Their club members will guide entry cars in thru Lake Cook or Church Street,
and collect the $15 entry fee. The club members will assign parking spaces. There will be 4
spectator trophies in addition to other trophies. The car club has the ballots and will handle the
voting - they suggest we have a Village official select the Best in Show car.
Rudy K the DJ will be there from 11:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M. Car registration will be from around
7:30-11:30 A.M. Trophies will be presented at approximately 2.30 P.M. They will need 3-4 8'
tables. They will bring their own pop-up tents for the admission &trophy tables. Adam also
spoke to Russ & Ron about the DJ- we are planning to put him in front of Village Hall. Adam
will confirm w/Public Works where the electric pods are located.
Paulette gave the car club aerial view maps of the Village Hall campus with notations on where
things will go that day.
Paulette has spoken w/the Village Grill - they will be open at 7:00 A.M for breakfast for the
golfers and others. Committee will have a table selling the raffle tickets for the donated car
products.
Carlos of San Roman Maintenance Company has been signed. Tent& stage has been verified and
signed - it will be blue &white. Adam has spoken with Pete, Dick Biondi's manager, and they
discussed the sound equipment needs.
Betty Lou has purchased some hula hoops, paddle balls and other supplies. Games will begin
around 11:30 A.M. - currently working on an event time list.
Committee will have a side meeting within the next few weeks.
Ice Cream Social/Concert:
Barbara reports there is a band concert this weekend, April 26rh. The 50rh band and choral concert
will be August 3d. Show is at 2:00-3:00 P.M. Children under 12 are free, adults are $5. Show is
at Stevenson High School. Kalidoscoops will be serving from 3:00-4:00 P.M. There is no charge
for the ice cream.
Park District Production: No report.
Displays:
Mary Jo encourages all to go to the Museum
Time Capsule:
Burial will be on the north side of the walk by the Village Hall front door; at approximately 2:30
P.M. on Monday, September 1't of Buffalo Grove Days. We've received a rally towel from BG
high school girl's IHSA 3d place basketball team, as well as Ivy Hall 3d graders' papers.
Garden Club:
They are still determining the plants to be used after the time capsule burial.
Veteran's Display:
Lou wants to put a car(s) in the parade during Buffalo Grove Days. Applications will soon be
available at Village Hall.
Sponsorships: No report.
Miscellaneous:
Judy reminded everyone to sign the scroll for the time capsule. Joan Kuffel has paid for her
license plates! Get well to Judith Siria.
