Tuesday, September 7, 1999
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm in Fire Station 426. Present at the meeting were Chairman
Walser, Commissioners Anderson, Karge, and Jackson. Also present were Village liaison Brimm and
Deputy Fire Chief Sashko.
Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of August 3, 1999. Motion carried.
Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of August 18, 1999. Motion carried.
Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of August 28, 1999. Motion carried.
Chairman's Report:
1. Commissioner Kahn is out of town on business.
2. Firefighter/Paramedic Tallas and Firefighter/Paramedic Spiro were sworn in tonight.
3. Conditional Offers of Employment were made to police officer candidates Horbus and Baron.
4. There will be a Special Meeting September 9, 1999 at 7:00 pm in Police Headquarters.
5. The Commission received a letter from Spiros's doctor clearing him.
Commissioner's Report: None
Old Business: Rules and Regulations
A motion was made and seconded to approve the Fire and Police Commission Rules and Regulations,
Village of Buffalo Grove, State of Illinois as revised dated September 10, 1999. 4 Ayes 0 Nays.
Motion carried.
New Business:
1. Commissioner Jackson would like to extend his thanks to the Service Chiefs in their support and
help in his transition to the Commission.
2. Deputy Chief Sashko received a letter from Brian Christ 42 on our Firefighter/Paramedic
Eligibility Register refusing for the 2nd time an opportunity to be considered for hire.
3. Deputy Chief Sashko received a letter of resignation from Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Oeltgen.
Executive Meeting: None
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting until 7:00 pm September 9, 1999 in Police
Headquarters. Motion carried.
