Mr. Malinowski put for discussion the consideration of joining a consortium for police and fire
testing. Commissioners discussed the issue and recommended that we continue the testing
process for fire and police personnel as it currently exists.
Deputy Chief Sashko asked that we reevaluate the testing components for the Fire Lieutenants
exam. He recommended that an incident command portion be added. This would require the
candidate seeking promotion to be evaluated on how they would handle and direct activities at
an incident scene. More detail will be provided and evaluated by the next meeting.
A motion by Commissioner Jackson was made to approve the recommended reading list for the
upcoming Fire Lieutenants examination. Commissioner Anderson seconded the motion.
With 5 ayes and 0 nays the motion carried.
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners adjourned their monthly meeting at 8:12 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Gregory G. Jackson
