2001-10-02 - Board of Fire and Police Commissioners - Minutes Board or Commission: ❑ Fire& Police commission Document Type: ❑A e g nda 0 Minutes Meeting ate: 10/02/2001 Type of Meeting: ❑ Regular Meeting Fire & Police Commission Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 2, 2001 The meeting was called to order at 7:22 pm in Fire Station#26. Present at the meeting were Chairman Walser, Commissioners Anderson, Karge, and Rubin. Also present were Village Liaison Malinowski, Fire Chief Allenspach and Deputy Fire Chief Sashko. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of September 4, 2001. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of September 22, 2001 as corrected. Motion carried as amended. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am, not 10:00 pm. Chairman's Report: 1) Commissioner Jackson is working late. 2) Officer Kenney appreciates the offer of employment after retirement but is declining due to another offer. 3) The Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Association fall seminars are November 2, 3, & 4 in St. Charles. 4) We had a swearing in ceremony on September 24, 2001 and September 28, 2001 for Police Officers, they are in the Academy in DuPage County. 5) A new oath of office is being worked on for the Fire Department similar to this new one the Police Department is using. Commissioner's Report: At 7:26 pm the meting was adjourned to give the orientation for the Lieutenant exam. The meeting was reconvened at 7:52 pm. Old Business: The Tactacle Assessment for Fire Department Lieutenant Promotional Exam is tabled. New Business: Liaison Malinowski reported that a background investigation is being done on number 5 and 8 on our Police Eligibility Register. Number 6 and 7 on the Eligibility Register have passed. Police Officer Cliffton Paul has been called back by the United States Navy for Active Duty. He is expected to be overseas for no less that 1 year.
