2002-06-20 - Board of Fire and Police Commissioners - Minutes Board orCommission: ❑ Fire& Police commission Document Type: 0 A e g nda 0 Minutes Meeting ate: 06/20/2002 Type of Meeting: ❑ Special Meeting VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting June 20, 2002 A Special Meeting of the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order on at 7:00 p.m. at the Fire Department Administration Building. Present at the meeting were Chairman Walser and Commissioners Anderson,Jackson, Karge and Rubin. Also in attendance were Fire Chief Sashko, Village Trustee DeAnn Glover and Village Liaison Art Malinowski. In addition,various members of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department and the public were in attendance to witness the swearing-in of firefighter/paramedic candidate Shawn Collins. A motion was made by Commissioner Jackson to waive the Chairman's Report and Commissioner's Reports for the purpose of going directly to the special business of the meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Anderson, and approved with 5 ayes and 0 nays. Chairman's Report Waived Commissioner's Reports Waived Special Business The oath of office was administered to Shawn Collins at 7:06 p.m. Old Business None New Business None Executive Session A motion was made by Commissioner Karge to go into Executive Session for discussion on personnel. Commissioner Anderson seconded the motion. Commissioner Anderson, Aye; Commissioner Jackson, Aye; Commissioner Karge, Aye; Commissioner Rubin, Aye; Chairman Walser, Aye. The motion carried with 5 ayes and 0 nays. The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners went into Executive Session at 7:10 p.m. The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners came out of Executive Session at 7:27 p.m. Open Session New Business Continued A motion was made by Commissioner Anderson and seconded by Commissioner Rubin to make a final offer of employment for the position of firefighter/paramedic to James Hauber. Commissioner Anderson, Aye; Commissioner Jackson, Aye; Commissioner Karge, Aye; Commissioner Rubin, Aye; Chairman Walser, Aye. The motion carried with 5 ayes and 0 nays. James Hauber will be offered the position. Adjournment A motion was made by Commissioner Rubin to adjourn and seconded by Commissioner Jackson. The motion carried with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
