CALL TO ORDER and ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Jackson at the village of Buffalo Grove Police Headquarters Building. Secretary Lane called roll. Secretary Lane noted for the record that a quorum of the commissioners were present at the meeting. The commissioners present were Chairman Jackson, Commissioner Karge, Commissioner Anderson, Commissioner Rubin was absent. Also in attendance at the meeting were Acting Police Chief Balinski, Deputy Fire Chief Pearson and Village Staff Liaison Malinowski APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF AUGUST 5, 2003. Commissioner Anderson would like the word approve instead of approved and a correction when it comes to the Executive session. It should only show the motion to go in and the time we came out. Commissioner Karge made the motion to approve the minutes and seconded by commissioner Anderson. CHAIRMAN' S REPORT: No report COMMISSIONERS' REPORT: No report OLD BUSINESS: None, due to the fact that Chief Sashko was absent. We tabled the discussion of Chief Sashko' s opinion of the order in which the tests are held. NEW BUSINESS: Chief Balinski would like to have a candidate sworn by September 15, because of a grant that the department has received. The commissioners would like the Poly and Background information on candidates delivered together. We also want the department to wait until we return the call notifying the best time to deliver the packages. EXECUTIVE SESSION: At 7:58 Commissioner Karge made a motion to go into Executive Session. It was seconded by Commissioner Lane. NEW BUSINESS cont. : At 8:20 Commissioner Anderson made a motion to return to regular session. It was seconded by Commissioner Karge. The result of the role call vote to offer candidate Hector DeLapaz a conditional offer was: Chairman Jackson - Nay, Commission Lane - Aye, Commissioner Karge - Aye, Commissioner Anderson - Aye ADJOURNMENT: At 8:25 Commissioner Anderson made a motion to adjourn.
