Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
Minutes of Special Meeting of December 26, 2005
CALL TO ORDER and ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman Jackson at the Village of Buffalo
Grove, Police Department Library. Secretary Loeb called the roll. Secretary Loeb noted for the
record that a quorum was present at the meeting. Present were Commissioners Jackson,
Viehman, Loeb, and Karge.
ADJOURNMENT OF OPEN SESSION: Motion was made by Commissioner Viehman and
seconded by Commissioner Karge to adjourn the open session and move to Executive Session at
7:32pm. All Commissioners present voted in favor of the motion.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The executive session began at 7:32pm. At 7:34pm a motion was
made by Commissioner Viehman, seconded by Commissioner Karge to return to open session.
All Commissioners present voted in favor of the motion.
RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: The open session resumed at 7:35pm to consider making a
final offer of employment to Police Candidates G. Hill and P. Atto. Voting was as follows:
Candidate Hill: A motion was made by Commissioner Karge, seconded by
Commissioner Loeb to make a final offer of employment to candidate Hill. A role call
vote was taken. The following Commissioners voted "aye:" Jackson, Viehman, Karge,
and Loeb. Chairman Jackson will communicate the decision to Mr. Hill.
Candidate Atto: A motion was made by Commissioner Viehman, seconded by
Commissioner Karge to make a final offer of employment to candidate Atto. A roll call
vote was taken. The following Commissioners voted "aye:" Jackson, Karge, Viehman,
and Loeb. Chairman Jackson will communicate the decision to Mr. Atto.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made at 7:45pm by Commissioner Viehman, seconded by
Commissioner Loeb to adjourn the meeting. All Commissioners present voted in favor of the
motion.
