Buffalo Grove, 11 60089 2196 111-on(I 841-41;9 M ax Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Special Meeting Saturday, February 15, 2014 Call to Order: The special meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by Chairperson Al Viehman, in the Chief s Conference Room of the BG Police Department. Roll Call: The roll was called, noting the presence of the following Commissioners: Ernie Karge, Brian Rubin, Bruce Kahn, and Al Viehman. Absent was Commissioner Jane Dibbern. A quorum was established. Agenda: In order to move forward with the business of the meeting, the regular agenda was dispensed with, and discussion of the New Business item of review and possible employment action on Firefighter/Paramedic Candidate 410 was entertained. A motion was made by Commissioner Rubin, seconded by Commissioner Karge for the Board to adjourn to a closed session as authorized by Subsection 2(a) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act [51LCS 120/2(a)] for the purpose of employment/ appointment matters. A roll call vote was concluded: Karge—aye, Rubin— aye, Kahn— aye, Viehman— aye. The motion was approved 4 - 0 and the Board adjourned to closed session at 11:02 a.m.. CLOSED SESSION: The closed session was called to order at 11:03 a.m. with roll call by announcement as follows: present Commissioners Karge, Rubin, Kahn and Viehman. Discussion of the psychological and medical materials presented for review was undertaken, in consideration of qualification of Candidate 410 for full time employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Upon completion of discussion, a motion to adjourn the closed session was offered by Commissioner Kahn, seconded by Commissioner Rubin. The motion was approved by positive vote of all Commissioners (4 — 0), with adjournment at 11:09 a.m. Re-Open of Special Meeting: The special meeting was re-opened at 11:09 a.m. A motion was offered by Commissioner Kahn, seconded by Commissioner Rubin, to offer full time employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the BGFD to Candidate 410 Eric Liebert. A roll call vote on the motion resulted in the Page 1 of 2 following: Karge—aye, Rubin— aye, Kahn— aye, Viehman— aye. The motion was approved 4 — 0. the candidate was to be contacted with the offer. Adjournment: There being no further business to be presented, the meeting was adjourned by acclamation vote of all on motion from Commissioner Kahn, seconded by Commissioner Rubin.
