Roll call: Rick Kahen, Dean Klassman, Dave Morton, Sue Gottlieb, Geri Miller-Brown, Judy Samuels, Mark Weiner, Beverly Sussman, Mara Sabath, Brian Rubin, Larry Swieca. Excused: Debbie Verson, Debby Holm, Steve Trilling Minutes: Motion by Commissioner Morton, Seconded by Commissioner Sabath to approve the November 29f minutes as read. Chairman's Report Dates for 2007 meetings: January 24, 2007 July, 25, 2007 February 28, 2007 August, 22, 2007 March 28, 2007 September 26, 2007 April 25, 2007 October 24, 2007 May 23, 2007 November 28, 2007 June 27, 2007 December 26, 2007 Goals for 2007 Distribute the business brochure Ask for speaker form Medicare's Disabilities Rights Bureau. Possibly work with Representative Kathy Ryg to develop a regional Disabilities Commission. Sponsor a Resource Fair on Labor Day Monday. All agencies, no vendors. (Commissioners Gottlieb, Miller-Brown, Sabath & Samuels will work on organizing this). Will bring up at first BG Days Committee meeting. Side note: Perhaps can suggest to Little City that instead of a busload of residents that it could be expanded into a family outing. Set up an e-mail reservation system for BG Days—Non-residents are also welcome. Still have about 150 goody bags left. Float subcommittee for BG Days. Commissioner Sabath is willing to head up. Send a letter to Trustee Rubin regarding snow in parking spaces. Arts of Life—Expressive Art. Commissioner Weiner will find a contact name to see if they would participate at the BG Art Festival, and/or BG Days. Would like to distribute new disability surveys at BG Days. Commissioner's Reports: Commissioner Samuels: Reference Stevenson HS gym equipment— obtain adaptive equipment for a summer camp. Sub-Committee Reports: Business Brochure: Final Draft approved, discussion on distribution. Decided that Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce would be most appropriate as this brochure is itended for business owners. Trustee Rubin can bring the Commission to the Rotary as a guest speaker and Commissioner Sussman can do the same for the Chamber of Commerce. Firther discussion in January. Maybe Liaison Swieca could speak to the groups. Commissioner Weiner will fix up the references and add a section on clearing snow from handicapped parking spaces. Items for Discussion: None Staff Liaison: Chairman Kahen & Liaison Swieca will get together to produce the 2006 Annual Report for the Village Board Other Business.
