Distribute the business brochure
Ask for speaker form Medicare's Disabilities Rights Bureau.
Possibly work with Representative Kathy Ryg to develop a regional Disabilities
Commission.
Sponsor a Resource Fair on Labor Day Monday. All agencies, no vendors.
(Commissioners Gottlieb, Miller-Brown, Sabath & Samuels will work on
organizing this). Will bring up at first BG Days Committee meeting.
Side note: Perhaps can suggest to Little City that instead of a busload of residents
that it could be expanded into a family outing.
Set up an e-mail reservation system for BG Days—Non-residents are also welcome.
Still have about 150 goody bags left.
Float subcommittee for BG Days. Commissioner Sabath is willing to head up.
Send a letter to Trustee Rubin regarding snow in parking spaces.
Arts of Life—Expressive Art. Commissioner Weiner will find a contact name to see
if they would participate at the BG Art Festival, and/or BG Days.
Would like to distribute new disability surveys at BG Days.
Commissioner's Reports:
Commissioner Samuels: Reference Stevenson HS gym equipment— obtain adaptive
equipment for a summer camp.
Sub-Committee Reports:
Business Brochure:
Final Draft approved, discussion on distribution. Decided that Rotary and the
Chamber of Commerce would be most appropriate as this brochure is itended for
business owners.
Trustee Rubin can bring the Commission to the Rotary as a guest speaker and
Commissioner Sussman can do the same for the Chamber of Commerce. Firther
discussion in January. Maybe Liaison Swieca could speak to the groups.
Commissioner Weiner will fix up the references and add a section on clearing snow
from handicapped parking spaces.
Items for Discussion: None
Staff Liaison:
Chairman Kahen & Liaison Swieca will get together to produce the 2006 Annual
Report for the Village Board
Other Business.
