Nicholas Schuetzenhofer from Arts of Life discussed the proposal from the Commission
to display artwork from their group on the Monday of Buffalo Grove Days. Mr.
Schuetzenhofer also described his organization. The organization works as an
alternative daycare, and its mission is to build community and promote self-respect. Arts
of Life currently has art being shown at fifteen area Starbucks and several galleries.
For Buffalo Grove Days, Arts of Life would like to set up interactive exhibits along
with their artwork. Ideas discussed included block painting and pinhole photography.
Trustee Trilling advanced an idea regarding Arts of Life and the Buffalo Grove Art
Festival (July 14 & 15). The CRD & the Arts Commission could share a booth and use it
to display the artwork. The CRD would have to staff& manage the booth. They could
review the artwork prior to display and recommend which pieces should be purchased by
the Village. Trustee Trilling will speak to DVM Nuekirch regarding this proposition so
that she may take it up with Amy Amdur.
Arts of Life has been approved for display at Buffalo Grove Days. Displaying at the Art
Festival will need to be discussed by DVM Neukirch, the Arts Commission and Amdur
productions at this late date.
There will be advertising for Arts of Life for Buffalo Grove Days. And a link to the Arts
ofLife webpage can be made from the Commission part of the Village website.
Families of the artists will be invited to attend the festivities on Monday.
