Chairman's Report
Mo welcomed every back for a new year and stated that she did not have an agenda tonight. She
just wished to talk about where we are at and report on the side bar meetings that have been
occurring the last few months. She also invited any comments from the floor.
Janet introduced the new Park District Liaison, Rick Risinger. Janet stated that she had been
involved in the BG Days for 10 years and it was time for someone else to move into the position.
Rick Kahen introduced Debbie Verson who is with the Commission on Disabilities. She will be
helping Rick with the Disabilities Program.
Mo stated that Carolyn has resigned from the committee, but will continue to help on the parade
with the typing, labels, sending out information, etc. She will not be coming to the meetings on a
regular basis. Jane Primack has "graciously" agreed to act as secretary.
Sherry Hrisko has also submitted her resignation on the Arts and Crafts sub-committee. She
stated that 5 years was enough but she wishes everyone well. She will provide all information to
the new sub-committee chairmen. Mo announced that Penny Novy and Glenda Hoelting will
co-chair the Arts and Crafts committee. Mo also stated that she and Glenda have been going to
crafts fairs, handing out information regarding BG Days, but there are a number of other craft
fairs during the same weekend that many crafters attend. The Arts and Crafts Committee will be
re-building this year.
Mo stated that Paulette and Rick had received a letter from Sandy of the carnival company,
requesting that the Disabilities Program be on Saturday morning, due to the fact that her
employees must get up early Monday morning for the program and yet stay up late breaking down
the carnival that night. Discussion occurred and Mo stated that she would talk to Sandy about
this.
Sub-Committee Reports
Entertainment: Rhonda Corchin
Friday night: Rhonda stated that she was going to try to get a local nightclub to sponsor the
Friday night main stage aimed at the 21-40 year old group. There will also be Karaoke in the
Beer Tent Friday night.
Saturday: Rhonda's thought to have the main stage start earlier and run 7:30-10:30 without a
break with 3 bands.
Sunday: Nothing yet. Sunday will have a family theme.
Sunday during the day: Children's Fair from 10 AM - 3 PM.
Rhonda hopes to get a children's act. We plan on getting a corporate sponsor to pay for this.
There will also be a children's fair in the field to go along with the children's entertainment at the
Main Stage. This will be for ages up to 12 years.
Fundraising: Sara Herman and Pam Soracco
We will be working with the chamber again this year. All the kinks from last year have been
worked out. Mo is hoping for a little more success this year in the fund raising. We will be
increasing opportunities for corporate sponsorship. With a donation of$1000, companies can
have a float in the parade that they can do anything with and have anyone on. We can have up to
10 corporate floats. If anyone knows of a corporation that would wish to "purchase" a float, call
Pam or Sara
The letter is ready to send out to possible sponsors for the festival, including what opportunities
are available and in what amounts. There will be one large parade sponsor, with that float in
front, possibly behind the police car..
The friends of the festival sponsorship for $25 fundraising will start earlier this year.
Sub-Committee Reports continued

Karen Danenberg will do all the publicity this year. Michele has other commitments preventing
her from working on the publicity but will return to help on the committee in general, only.

Chamber: Steve Panitch
Steve Panitch is the new president of the Chamber. Mike Jonas is taking a few months off in
Costa Rica.

The next meeting will be on March 6th at 7:00 pm.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
